Diya's pov
My thoughts rushed as I yacked in the Toilet.
I felt so responsible for bringing Tony into our home. I wouldn't be surprised if Theo screamed at me when I see him. Luckily, the doctors say he will be okay. Joseline said I will know the details when I see him. I was too frightened to ask over the phone to see him. Some part of me is ashamed to face him.
I left the bathroom to see a few cops still taking pictures of the crime scene.
I snapped out of my thoughts because a police officer handed me a paper with a business card attached.
"We'll call you to keep you updated on this case. This is my number and that paper has some minor details we've gathered so far... including case number and your options of prosecution. we'll be in touch"
I nodded in understanding. I couldn't form the words so I just gave him a weak smile.
I went back to the bathroom to brush my teeth, hearing my phone beep. I flipped it over to read my new message.
not over yet-unknown
The text from the private number made my heart drop. Who could be texting me if Tony was in custody?
I washed my mouth out shakily, instantly wanting to make my way to the hospital with Nicole. It could just be a wrong number...right? Either way, Theo was one of the only people who could make me feel completely safe. I needed him just as much as I'm sure he needed me.
I held Nicole's hand down to the garage so we could pick a car to travel in. I picked a black Jeep with the darkest tints we had. I didn't feel like being seen today.
It didn't take long for us to get to the hospital since the traffic wasn't too bad.I can't lie, I was a bit paranoid from the text so I gripped Nicole's hand tightly as we entered.
"Ow!" Nikki said once we were in the hospital's elevator.
"Hm?" I questioned. All I could think about was the text.
"You're squishing my circle Nation!"
"I think you mean circulation Nik" I chuckled at her misunderstanding.
"yes. My circle lation."
We laughed together as we got off the elevator. We went to the right like the receptionist told us; seeing a huge crowd of reporters. They all wanted to know why Athello the billion dollar man was in the hospital. Ken quickly went through the crowd to escort Nikki and I through the sea of cameras. We kept our head down as we walked in.
"I had no idea the paps cared that much." I stated.
Once we entered the quiet room, I ran by Theo's side to kiss him. I instantly noticed that he seemed agitated.
"I usually have more security because Of invasive fuckers like them! Fuck man" Theo rambled upset.
"Hey baby. It's okay, I'm just glad you're okay"
I smiled as I brushed his cheek. His gaze softened when he met my eyes.
"I'm glad you're okay too dad" Nicole interrupted our exchange to give her dad a huge hug.
"Oh uh I forgot to mention. My parents flew in so they'll meet us at the house for dinner tonight."
Are you kidding? This is how I have to meet his parents?
"Great!" I lied. I didn't want to be too harsh because I really could only be grateful that Theo survived this incident. I just couldn't help but worry about if his parents would like me.
Oh, And that text message.
I did not want to give him more things to worry about. This hospital trip and the cops have been traumatic enough.
"I know you're nervous angel but it's all gonna be okay" Theo said when he realized I was staring into space.
I nodded. "So when are we leaving to go home for dinner?"
"Now. We're just waiting for Joseline to come back from the bathroom so Ken can give her a ride back home."
