Diya's pov
The next morning
"You don't get it Diya... it's a constant feeling that I don't belong in this family. They barely feel like relatives let alone parents!"
I nodded my head watching the water droplets fall down Theo's V line. I was so obsessed that I couldn't focus.
"I'm finally in love again and this is how they treat you-god it's disgusting!"
I sighed as I lifted my head with my hand. I know Theo was upset but he was still just as angry as he was when his parents were here. I was hoping that he would have cooled down by now.
I got up to start putting on some finishing touches and Theo instantly quieted down.
"Your ass is so beautiful in that dress"
I blushed as I looked in the mirror to apply some gloss.
"Your body is so beautiful without your shirt" I admitted.
"Sounds like you want me inside you..."
I turned with a fake shocked expression. I threw a small pillow at his face.
"Never that" I joked.
"Owww fine, sorry"
I chuckled as I picked up my purse to leave the bedroom.
"Nik, are you ready baby?"
I heard no reply so I knocked on her bedroom.
"Nikki?"
No answer so I turned the knob. Nicole was still asleep on her bed. I sighed lowly and walked up to sit on the edge of her bed; putting my purse down beside me.
"I don't feel so well" Nicole expressed in a raspy voice.
"Oh honey" I comforted. I raised my hand to touch her forehead causing her to shiver at my cold hand. Her head was burning up.
Theo came in midway of buttoning up his shirt.
"oh you better have an excellent reason to be lying there in bed Nicole. I am not playing with you today"
"Baby she doesn't feel well." I spoke up in her defense. I could see Nicole furrow her eyebrows at her dad's tone.
"I do not care-
"Theo!" I gasped at his behavior. It was not like him to parent Nicole so harshly. Especially not after all the trauma we experienced this week. We were lucky to even be alive.
"It's true. I do not care about that today. You WILL get dressed and we WILL go to this picnic. Everything needs to be put together"
"Ugh! I hate you" Nicole spewed raspy hate after sitting upright.
"I love you most" Theo responded as he turned around to go back to our bedroom.
I couldn't believe that he told her to go rather than stay home.
"It's okay baby, you can nap at the park under a tree. I'll give you medicine and bring some supplies to keep you cool. I have a portable fan, a rag for the cooler and some picnic blankets. Sound good?"
Nicole nodded seemingly more satisfied.
