Diya's pov
I stared in silent anger. Feeling worse than I should.
"Sorry I know I'm not working today haha but I know what you've been dealing with so I thought to bring some flowers."
Rebecca extended her pity bouquet to me. I gripped them then smiled a forced smile. "thanks" I mumbled blandly.
"uhm Rebecca! Why don't you join us for dinner?"
My eyes shot bullets into Theo's skull once I heard his invitation. Are you kidding?
"that sounds wonderful!" Rebecca admitted. She pushed past me to the dinner table. Of course she remembers where it is.
"Why isn't she unemployed yet?" I whispered to Theo before we got back into the kitchen.
"shush. She might hear you." He told me sternly.
"God, you are unbelievable!"
The doorbell rang again so I turned back around to quickly open it. This time it really was Joseline.
We hugged but she could tell I was upset. We communicated with our eyes as soon as I glanced to Rebecca at the dinner table."Where is your friend?" Theo asked me rudely once we came into the kitchen to sit down. He was referring to Tony.
"He is still using the bathroom I guess. What do you want me to do? Rush him?" I dryly joked.
"I'm gonna check on him." Theo told us.
"No! That's ridiculous. Let him be"
I couldn't believe how rude Athello was behaving.
Out of nowhere, we heard something shatter upstairs. The noise made everyone at the table jump.
Theo and I shot upstairs to check on Nicole. It was just our parental instincts once we heard the noise. We came up to Nicole's room to see Tony holding the doorknob tight to keep her locked in. He held a dagger tightly in his free hand. He was facing us with the darkest look in his eyes.
"are you fucking insane?" Theo asked lividly. He took a step forward but Tony pointed the knife at us as he continued to press against Nicole's bedroom door.
"One more step and I'll open Nicole's door- I'll traumatize your little girl more. Don't do it. I'm being FUCKING nice"
I held Theo back from any impulsive movement. I was standing in complete fear and shock. This dinner was chaotic but I just couldn't wrap my head around Tony doing something so disgusting.
"Tony this isn't okay. What are you doing?" I teared up. I had no clue how to react at his sudden change in personality.
"What do you want?" I continued questioning him.
"Dad?" Nicole asked frightened from her room.
"Everything's fine baby. Our friend is just a bit drunk. Stay in bed." He lied.
I continued to stare at the psycho who was between me and my step daughter.
"What. Do . You. Want?" I repeated myself lowly. Hearing Nicole's voice made me suck up my tears real fast. I almost forgot that I had a child to protect.
"Don't you get it my love? I want you!"
My heart sank hearing his words. I saw Theo turn red with anger.
"I'll absolutely kill you" Theo spat.
"If you move closer- your daughter will die first" Tony replied.
Joseline and Rebecca were both downstairs. One of them could call 9-1-1 but how could I make that happen? They both were clueless on what was going on.
Theo abruptly charged into Tony. He interrupted my thoughts by tackling him through Nicole's bedroom door.
"give me the KNIFE you fucking pervert!"
"NO THEO" I screamed bloody murder simultaneously with Nicole. Nikki ran off her bed crying into my arms.
"I know you're scared baby but it's gonna be fine. You need to go to the guest room right now and lock the door. Don't you dare open it unless you hear mine or daddy's voice. Go NOW". I rambled in one breathe but luckily she understood.
Theo continued to wrestle with Tony; crashing all of Nicole's trophies to the ground. I wanted to protect Athello but I knew I would only make it worse. I ran downstairs in pain to get Joseline and a phone.
She was standing curiously by our kitchen table.
"What is that commotion upstairs?"
"Call the police joseline!" I cried.
