A week after the incident at the Weathervane, Wednesday went back into town to talk to James.
Xavier followed a little less than half an hour after she left. Together, they'd planned for him to keep an eye at a distance. He would go into the Weathervane to get something and sit and study for an upcoming exam.
As soon as James's shift was over, he went and sat down across from Wednesday. A sneaky, creepy smile crept upon the boy's face. "So, you're ready to meet Mila, huh?"
Wednesday stared at the boy intensely. "Yes. Where is she?"
The boy stood up. "Come follow me. I would've given her your number... but I don't have it. Maybe you can change that?" He attempted to flirt with the girl.
"No. There is only one person who has my phone number, and I intend to keep it that way. My boyfriend," the psychic shut the barista down.
James shook his head with a sly smile. "I'm still not falling for that 'Xavier is my boyfriend' act, Wednesday. I know you're lying. I dunno how to prove it yet, but I know it for a fact."
Wednesday followed the boy out of the coffee shop. Xavier was almost convinced to text her out of concern but ultimately refrained.
A little less than a block away, James nodded toward a very outcast-looking girl.
She had long blonde wavy hair with green eyes-- pretty basic-- but had a darker, more grunge-looking fashion sense. "Mila," the boy called.
The girl nodded back. "Is this Wednesday Addams?" She asked.
James nodded and smirked back towards the noirette. "Well, I guess I'll leave you with Mila. She's a real ankle-biter, so be careful. I wouldn't want anything bad happening to your perfect face," he said with a wink.
Wednesday glared back at him. "The only thing bad that will happen in the next hour is your murder if you keep flirting with me. I am dating Xavier."
Mila raised an eyebrow. "You're dating Xavier? As in Xavier Thorpe?"
Wednesday suspiciously eyed the girl. "Yes. Do you have a problem with that? If so, I would be more than willing to mention it to him. I'm sure he will be delighted to join me in putting the two of you in your graves."
James chuckled. "She used to talk to Xavier, you know, romantically ... have fun with that, Wednesday Addams."
He then turned to the blonde. "I'll be back for her in an hour and a half. Don't be late," and with that comment, the barista walked away.Wednesday narrowed her eyes at Mila. "When did you talk to Xavier?"
The normie crossed her arms in defense. "Shouldn't you know? He's your boyfriend, not mine, and for good reason."
"My relationship with Xavier is not defined by his past relationships with other girls. I asked a simple question, is it that hard to give a simple answer?" The outcast asked in response.
Mila rolled her eyes. "I guess that's fair. First semester, two years ago. He was a really great guy... I guess I just got scared off by another girl. You probably know her, though, Bianca Barclay."
Wednesday gave a slight nod. "Yes. I am friends with her. I wasn't always. We were enemies when I first met her. She and Xavier are long gone."
Mila smiled and raised an eyebrow as she and Wednesday began walking deeper into the town together. "So, how long have you and Xavier been dating?"
"A little less than two months," Wednesday lied.
The blonde began to fake pout. "Oh, what a shame. That's when relationships usually start having their first troubles. That's how long Xavier and I were talking before Bianca butted in. We would've been the couple to unite the outcasts and normies, you know."
