Wednesday felt her stomach drop immediately.

Enid had not only found her and Xavier sharing a moment, but didn't even seem to care at the moment because of how urgent the fire was.

Xavier scratched the back of his neck, chuckling nervously. "Uh, we were just-- uh-- nevermind-- We should probably go."

He tried to grab Wednesday's hand, but she pulled away from him before he had the chance.

"Follow me! We have to get out!" Enid ordered the two love birds.

The three quickly picked up their pace and found their way out of the school, in front of the gates. The firemen were just arriving.

"Thank goodness, my dears are okay! Thank you, Miss Sinclair! You truly are one of our school's saviors!" Principal Opal cried out, praising Enid.

About twenty minutes later, Sheriff Galpin walked out of the gates and up to the new principal. "It was just a mistake of the kitchen staff. Nothing else was damaged, so you're free to go back."

Wednesday watched the man from afar. Something seemed off. He seemed different than before- and not in an innocent way.

Then she noticed something else.

Someone else.

Someone else who did not belong.

Lo and behold, Zachary Chapman stepped out of a black SUV only several hundred feet away from Wednesday.

What is that problematic people-pleasing normie doing here?

His father and Timothy Anderson must be behind the fire Wednesday thought to herself.

Principal Opal smiled gleefully as the boy approached her. "Ah, darling boy! You've made it!"

Xavier eyed the boy suspiciously. It couldn't be good that Wednesday's newly ex-boyfriend was being welcomed by the Nevermore principal.

Then Principal Opal began speaking.

"Students! Students! I have an announcement before you all head back to your regular activities! We have a new student with us this afternoon! Everyone, please welcome Zachary Chapman into the walls of our warm, friendly Nevermore community home!"

Wednesday could not believe what she was hearing.

She could not stay silent while a normie was being brought into the walls of her school.

"He has no ability. There is nothing special about him. He is not an outcast. How have you accepted a normal boy into a school for outcasts?" Wednesday asked Principal Opal.

Principal Opal shook her head in pity. "Miss Addams, that is no way to speak to a new student. He is very much an outcast. He is not accepted in Jericho. That makes him one of us, child."

Xavier balled up his fists. "No! Wednesday's right! He's a totally normal guy! His dad loves him!"

"My dad hates me," Zachary scoffed. "Jeez, Xavier. You should be nicer to your girlfriend's brother."

The outcast eyed the normie. "I don't have a girlfriend. There's no chance I'll ever see Mila again after your dad threatened to kill me."

Shocked gasps erupted from other students as whispers flooded around faster than ever before. The Nevermore students believed they were in danger.

Mr. Chapman threatened to kill Vincent Thorpe's son?!

What if he's like Joseph Crackstone?!
