Vince stood up, helping Miray up after. "Let's go have our nap," he said tiredly, stretching until all his joints had given a satisfying crack.

Miray grabbed the hand, needing it, and stood. "What about the beans?" she asked fearfully, grimacing at the plate full of beans.

"You want to eat them?" Vince raised his eyebrow at her questioningly.

Miray shook her head fervently, "Ew, no!" she exclaimed in horror.

She hated beans with a burning passion.

"Then screw it. Who cares about the beans," Vince rolled his eyes, "Now - I need my promised nap," he swiftly picked her up and threw her over his shoulder with no effort.

Miray squealed and hugged his middle, "V! Put me down! You're going to make me throw up all the beans that I managed to stomach!" she groaned in misery, fingers clutching his leather jacket.

She felt a bit dizzy from being flipped upside down.

Vince chuckled, walking up the stairs, "Ha! Like you don't want just that," he shook his head, smiling in amusement when Miray hit his back.

It didn't hurt.

"Well, I don't want those beans to pass through my throat again - They're so yucky!" she grimaced and bit the inside of her cheek, forcing down the gag that threatened to itch its way out of her throat.

She really felt sick and hoped Vince would place her down soon before she vomited on his back.

"V, I th- oh," Miray winced, feeling a sudden, sharp, stabbing pain when she tried to breathe.

Vince immediately placed her down, though they had already reached the attic, "What's wrong?" He asked, eyes flickering with ill-concealed worry.  He cupped her face in his hands, "You okay? - is it your heart? Are-"

"V! Calm down," Miray chuckled, trying to take short cautious breaths and wiggle her way out of his hands, "Ha! got you!" She stuck her tongue, trying her best not to wince.

Vince was silent, his worried eyes roaming Miray's face trying to figure her out.

But he couldn't.

Not anymore...

"Rei-" Vince began, voice distressed.

"Oh God, V~ I was just joking," Miray interrupted, "I'm okay, I promise," she lied with a smile. "Now, let's get our beauty sleep, I'm tired," She whined and tugged his hand, trying to fake a yawn since she couldn't take a deep breath without wincing again.

Vince let her walk him to the bed and watched her sit down. He took a deep breath, his chocolate eyes never once looked away from his sister. He knelt down in front of her and held her hands in his. "Rei, please don't lie to me, do you feel bad?" he asked again, eyebrows furrowing worriedly.

Miray looked up, meeting Vince's pleading eyes.

And it hurt.

She hated how much distress she caused her brother.

Her smile faded into a pout, guilt blooming inside of her, "V, I'm okay, I was just joking, so you'll put me down... I'm sorry," she said, looking down, voice so tiny it was barely audible.
