Luke tried to adjust Miray on his bed, but the latter let out a whine of protest at the action.

"Sorry." Luke winced like he was the one in pain. "Are you more comfortable this way, love?" he asked, tilting his head a bit so he could see her expression.

They were currently lying down on his bed, Miray's back was leaning against his broad chest, while he leaned his back on the bed headboard, wrapping one arm around her waist while the other caressed her hair gently.

"I wanna sleep in my room." Miray whispered, voice so tiny it was barely audible.

Luke's hand caressing her hair halted, and he was quiet for a moment before speaking. "Why?" he asked, already knowing the answer.

Though Miray never answered.

Luke sighed heavily, his hand resuming to caress her hair. "Love," he called softly, pausing to kiss her head. "I know you think you're bothering me, but that's not true." he said truthfully. "The only thing that would bother me is if you go somewhere where I can't see you."

Miray turned around to look at him, sniffling sadly.

"Rei, do you know how bad you felt when Vince and Noah weren't answering your calls?" Luke asked, looking into her eyes.

"Bad... very bad." Miray rubbed at her eyes with her fists, voice wavering with the threat of tears.

Luke reached for her hand and kissed her palm, his lips soft and plump against the delicate skin. "I would feel worse if you slept alone in your room..." he mumbled, raising Miray's hand to his cheek, nuzzling it. "Please don't do that to me... Can you please allow me to stay with you?" he pleaded, "It's not you needing me, Rei, I need you just as much, if not more..." he trailed off, feeling his chest constrict.

Luke was looking up at Miray, and his eyes were pleading... and that made her heart flutter.

"I know you think if you sleep in your room, you won't disturb my sleep, and I would finally be able to sleep, but you're wrong..." he paused, eyes roaming over Miray's angelic features.

Even when she was sick, she still took Luke's breath away.

"You're so wrong because I wouldn't even be able to sleep - or breathe...Rei." Luke explained. "I would just sit here, losing my mind. Please allow me to stay... hmm?" he said earnestly, his lips ghosting across Miray's palm.

Miray was silent for a few seconds, taking in his words. "O-okay." she sniffled quietly.

"Thank you so much, I love you." Luke pulled her closer, hugging her gently, and Miray returned the hug.

They stayed in each other's embrace, feeling each other's heartbeat, and it was everything.

Miray eventually pulled back and tilted her head slightly from his chest, staring at his face.

"Lou," she called after a while, her face finally breaking into a tired smile, dimples appearing at the corners of her mouth.

"Yes, love." Luke replied, a bit breathless.

God, he missed her smile so much.

Those dimples...

Those chocolate eyes, gazing up at him with so much love.
