^Luke? I guess *chuckles* (you can think of him as you wish)
Kindely, don't forget to vote and comment, and...
Enjoy~!
There was a slight shift of tension in the room as they ate. No one seemed to enjoy the food; they only munched on it to be busy doing something rather than staring at each other. They also didn't like wasting food.
Luke kept rubbing up and down Miray's back even after she slept. Sometimes caressing her hair and planting a kiss on her hair every now and then.
In her sleep, Miray turned around so her back was facing Luke. She kept fidgeting and whimpering like something was bothering her.
After a while, the plates were already gone, and they all were watching some random TV show that no one seemed to pay attention to.
Noah was still curled up under Vince's arm, gazing at the TV screen and sneaking a glance at where his sister was cuddling with Luke every now and then.
The room was quiet until Rayan spoke, surprising everyone.
He hardly spoke even when he was spoken to. So him initiating it was something extremely rare.
"Damian." he called slowly, catching everyone's attention. His eyes were on Miray's lips, reading it.
Damian looked at Rayan only to find the boy's eyes fixated on Miray's direction. He followed his gaze, and his heart skipped a beat at Miray's pained expression.
Her face was pale, too pale for Damian's liking. She was biting her lips, suppressing her cries of pain while tears streamed down her face.
"She's calling for you." Rayan said when Damian didn't budge.
Damian immediately stood up and walked to where Miray was lying down. Luke tried to sit up but the loud whine of protest parting Miray's lips made him halt.
Damian crouched down to her level, "What's wrong, sweetheart." he asked softly, stroking the bangs out of her watery eyes.
Miray whispered something that Damian didn't get.
"What did you say, love?" he asked, leaning in so he could catch it this time.
"L-Lou, please, t-tell him not to m-move." Miray choked out, barely able to speak.
Fire.
Her body was on fire, and any movement felt like someone was pouring acid on her skin.
"Luke, don't move." Damian quickly said as Luke was about to move. "What's wrong? What hurts?" he asked, with a sinking feeling.
Miray closed her eyes momentarily as she took in a shaky breath. " -everyone not s-see." she panted, opening her eyes and meeting Damian's worried eyes.
Behind Damian, everyone stood beside them, eyes flickered with ill-concealed worry.
Damian frowned, not understanding what she meant. "What is it, babe, I'm sorry I didn't hear you." he reached for her hand, but Miray flinched, and Damian's heart sank.
"N-No!" she cried in pain. "Damian, p-please." she pleaded, shutting her eyes in pain.
Why did no one understand her?
She was literally burning, but no one seemed to see.
She was shouting for help, but no one seemed to hear her loud cries.
