The brothers were in a state of panic as they frantically searched for Miray, who went missing again. Their worry escalated until they received a message from Rayan, informing them that they were together and that Miray was safe.
Ren and Kaiden stood near the entrance of the hospital, keeping a watchful eye on Lucy who was being occupied by Dylan and Alex. She appeared restless as if waiting for an opportunity to escape.
As they waited in the hallway, the nurse approached them with a smile, "Dr. Evans, I have good news for you," she said, capturing the attention of everyone in the hallway. Damian's hands trembled as he eagerly accepted the papers from her, scanning through them with anticipation.
"We have found two potential donors, but only one of them meets the criteria for donation due to the other's health condition," the nurse explained, her words drawing hopeful gazes from Noah and anxious anticipation from Luke and Damian.
Tears welled up in Noah's eyes as he looked at the nurse with hope, "Who is it?" he asked, his voice trembling. Meanwhile, Luke and Damian scanned through Lucy's results, their hearts pounding in their chests, overwhelmed with a mix of hope and relief.
"The patient's mother and sister, Lucy, have both been deemed suitable," the nurse revealed, and the brothers' hearts sank.
"Sister?" Luke exclaimed in shock, briefly glancing at the nurse, his voice resonating loudly.
The nurse seemed slightly taken aback as she nodded hesitantly. "Yes, she was also found to be compatible, but due to her existing heart problem and overall health condition, she was deemed ineligible for donation," she explained.
Luke was beyond shocked and confused as he turned his gaze back to the second file in Damian's hands, which the latter was opening with trembling hands. The name on the folder and the results it contained sent a shiver down their spines.
Miray Evans, results: compatible.
Luke and Damian were filled with questions, their minds racing, but before they could voice them, they heard footsteps approaching. Glancing up, they saw Miray hurrying towards them.
In a state of stress and nervousness, the files slipped from Damian's hands as he attempted to hide Miray's file. Fortunately, Luke reacted swiftly, reaching out to catch the papers and ensuring that Lucy's file was the one on top.
"Hi!" Miray greeted, a bit too cheerfully than usual. "Did you get the results?" she asked, her eyes averting toward the files that were now in Luke's hands.
Luke and Damian exchanged a quick, subtle look of nervousness. It was evident that Damian was in a more shocked state than Luke, so Luke took the initiative to speak. He cleared his throat, feeling the heat rising in the air.
"Yes, love," Luke began, trying his best to maintain a natural tone. "We received some great news. Lucy is a compatible donor for you."
Miray's smile remained on her face, but Luke's reaction puzzled her when he didn't continue. He simply stared at her in a strange manner, leaving her to prompt him further. "And?" she urged, her voice filled with anticipation.
