"From distant hearts, an unexpected connection."

Rayan combed the moonlit beach, running his fingers through the sand with increasing desperation. The soft night breeze rustled his hair as he continued his search, but the object he sought remained stubbornly hidden.

Just when he thought all hope was lost, a voice sliced through the quiet, sending a jolt of surprise through Rayan's veins. He froze for a heartbeat, then slowly turned to find Kaiden holding the object he sought, casually waving it in his hand.

Rayan got to his feet, brushing the sand off his clothes with deliberate calmness. He fixed his gaze on Kaiden, his eyes betraying none of the unease beneath the surface.

"Give it back," he said calmly, his words carrying a quiet authority that contrasted with the tension of the situation.

A heavy breeze rolled in from the waves, ruffling both Rayan's and Kaiden's dark hair. Rayan's eyes remained calm and indifferent, dark pools reflecting his stoic personality. Surprisingly, Kaiden's eyes bore a similar hue, but beneath the surface, they held anger and a trace of fear and responsibility.

Rayan and Kaiden, though stood as stark contrasts to each other, were alike in many ways.

"Why?" Kaiden inquired, feigning the same calm demeanor as Rayan, though seething with frustration on the inside. "What do you want to do with it?"

"Nothing," Rayan gritted, his patience wearing thin but masked by his apparent indifference. "Give it back, Kaiden," he demanded, his eyes icy.

Kaiden was on the brink of asking more questions when realization dawned upon him, causing him to freeze. His eyes widened as everything fell into place inside his mind. He felt a pang of self-directed frustration for not understanding sooner.

How could he have been so blind?

Miray's injured feet, her tearful eyes, their presence on the beach, and the gun—all the pieces of the puzzle suddenly clicked together, and Kaiden berated himself for not seeing it earlier.

"****!, ******* *****!!" Kaiden erupted in a string of curses, his hand instinctively clutching his head as he realized the extent to which he had been missing.

Rayan felt a lump in his throat as he knew that Kaiden had figured it out. He wasn't particularly concerned about what people thought of him, but there was something about others discovering his vulnerability that gnawed at him—a feeling of pathetic weakness that he couldn't shake.

It was a different kind of desperation compared to when Miray had first found out about it.

Then, in a sudden burst of rage, Kaiden lunged at Rayan, his fingers gripping Rayan's collar and pulling him close. The intense heat of Kaiden's anger seemed to radiate from him like a searing heater, enveloping Rayan.

"You ******* ******," Kaiden seethed, his voice trembling with fury. "You ****** ******!" he repeated his words like a broken record, his mind seemingly frozen and unable to form coherent sentences.
