"A moment of weakness"

Rayan entered the room, all the sweet feelings he had been experiencing in his dream vanishing as soon as his eyes landed on Miray who was lying there, not asleep but in a state of unconsciousness brought on by her fever.

Her eyes were open, but they lacked their usual focus. She seemed to be aware to some extent, but her thoughts were disjointed, her words a chaotic mix of apologies to Damian, urging him to save Vince. Then, in her troubled slumber, she begged them to rescue Rayan, her words echoing in a haunting refrain.

Rayan approached Miray's bedside, his heart heavy with longing and his fists clenched at his sides. His desire to be there for her was overwhelming, but her brothers' protective presence created an impenetrable barrier around her. His gaze fixated on her delicate hand, which was gently held by Vince's, just inches away yet agonizingly out of reach. Vince's lips brushed against Miray's hand, holding it tenderly to his own.

He felt a mixture of emotions coursing through him—frustration, helplessness, and an overwhelming urge to touch her, to convey his apologies for inadvertently making her sick. It was a tormenting sight for him, standing on the edge of her world, unable to bridge the gap that separated them.

Rayan felt like an outsider, a silent observer in a world he desperately wanted to be a part of. His heart swelled with helplessness and longing as he silently prayed for Miray to notice him. He yearned for her acknowledgment, a simple gesture that would allow him to hold her hand and be by her side.

But this time his prayers had reached the heavens sooner, and God had answered them. Damian, his eyes filled with gratitude, sensed Rayan's presence and let out a sigh of relief. He spoke softly to Miray, his tone gentle and reassuring, "Rei, sweetheart, Rayan is here. Can you hear me?" Damian finished administering Miray's medication, and she didn't appear to even notice it.

Miray's unstable gaze swept across the room until it landed on Rayan. She struggled to call out his name, her voice barely audible.

Her head throbbed relentlessly, and the nerves in her eyes felt as if they were being stretched to their limit, causing her intense discomfort and pain. She shivered, her body still gripped by the cold.
