Jennie

The pain of her leaving me was too much to bear the first time.

Now I have a child. Anyone who comes into my life will also be in my daughter's life, how do you explain to a two-year old that a relationship didn't work out? I can't disrupt her life when she's too young to even understand.

She's already showing a liking to Lisa and considering that she is usually shy around new people; I need to stop this now.

"Look, I don't ..."I start to explain this to Lisa but someone interrupts me.

"Jen and Lisa, good to see you two catching up on old times."

"Jisoo." I try to stop her from getting involved but my pushy older cousin pretends not to hear me at all.

"Now that you two are friends again, I want to invite you over our place on the sixteenth, so a week from Friday." Jisoo says to Lisa.

"Having a party for Jennie's birthday is it?" Lisa asks.

"You remembered my birthday?" I asked, totally shocked.

She chuckles nervously. "You know how my mind is, birthdays always seem to stick in my head."

"I remember, you could always remember the most random of peoples' birthdays."

"Still the same, now that I've been nominated as the person-in-charge of birthdays at the station."

We share a warm smile that is ruined by Jisoo reminding us of her presence. "So, Lisa, can we expect you there?"

"I do have the day off, so yeah, I'll be there." She smiles. "Well ladies, I better head out, I'll see you all next week."

We watch her leave before I turn on my cousin. "Why did you do that!?"

"You'll thank me one day." She simply says taking the basket out of my hands. "Right, what's next on the list?"
