Chapter 25: Fly
I thought about anything my mind would let me, but I still felt pain.
In the darkness, a ring of light expanded, making the darkness plain white light.
“Hey, princess.” A firmilar voice says.
The only person who’d ever called me that was….
It can’t be. I spin around. “Dad?” I ask.
“Yes, baby girl?”
Wait. Dad is dead. He isn’t alive. My dad is … dead. If he was here, did that mean I was… dead too?
I scratch that from my mind.
“What are you d-doing here?” I say with a slight stutter.
“Shh,” he says, putting a hand on my face, “you’re hilucinating. You’re gonna be okay.”
He was already reading my mind, something he’d always been good at.
“Listen to me, you need to get over me, honey. I’m happy. I’m okay. You’re okay. We. Are. Okay.” He told me, I knew this was just a figment of my imagination, but I believed him.
The pain got worse, until it made me collapse to the ground. I heard a piercing scream, to my surprise, it was mine.
“Shh. It’s okay.”A different voice said.
An annoying beeping was to my left. The white fog dissapeared and my eyes were open.
I look around, I was in an ambulance.
Where is Keene?
The beeping to the left started going haywire, I then realized three chords coming out of the machine were stuck to my chest; a heart monitor.
The crushing feeling returned to my chest.
I started drifting away, seeing my dad again.
Even though I could hear him just fine, dad kept coming in and out of view.
“Baby, you’re hurt pretty bad. You have to promise me you’ll keep going.” Dad said, now standing right in front of me. I nod.
The next thing I knew, I was staring up at a ceiling. Different voices were everywhere. I try to move my head to find them.
It was then I got a chance to see how badly injured I really was. I glance down to see that my once white t-shirt was now a dark crimson color. My hair had gone from its normal blonde color to an odd colored red; also soaked in blood.
Fragments of glass were all over my body and head. Doctors and nurses were surrounding me.
All I wanted was Keene, though.
He could be dead.
I couldn’t fill my lungs with oxygen. Before I knew it, I was asleep again.
I heard a firmiliar voice: Jillian. I tried to open my eyes to find her, but I couldn’t, so I reached for her.
“Jill.” I utter
A hand grabs mine.
“Kam.” She says back, I could tell she was trying to hold back tears.
