Michael and Steven nodded. "Yes Sir."
They stepped aside. The rest of the sentries stayed a few feet to each side of the Council and Elder Camarillo.
We continued to the cave.
As we came into the clearing near the entrance. We saw who was escorting us. The West Minster group and a small squad of werewolves.
They came and bowed to the Council.
"It was an honour escorting you Madam and Sirs."
They nodded back.
Then they ran back into the trees.
Chief Walking Tree noticed the Council. He came to speak to them.
"Honourable Friends where have you come from?"
"We were in the woods Walking Tree." Councilman Klaus told him.
"Was it memorable Sir?"
"Yes we found many places we would like to visit."
The Chief smiled. "This is a beautiful country."
"Yes it is."
"Have all your supplies arrived Chief Walking Tree?"
"Yes Honourable Klaus. They arrived at noon. The Lady Seeing Blind showed us where to store the food. She is a truly remarkable woman."
"Yes she is." Councilman Klaus noticed the position of the sun. "Why do we not go inside Walking Tree?" The Chief nodded.
We walked inside the Council greeted the rest of the tribe. Some seemed a little nervous being around us. They tried to hide it.
We stayed with the Council until they retired to their chambers. I had stopped breathing. Too many mortals. Paddy was not close enough to me to notice.
Quinn stayed with his friend Leia. We returned to our quarters.
We walked into our room. I took a deep breathe.
"Finally I can breathe."
Paddy looked at me then he realised why. He touched my belly. "I think you might have to stay away from the natives for awhile."
I nodded. "I think so too."
I made Paddy something to eat then we went to bed. I snuggled into him and fell asleep.
After when we woke up Paddy went to talk to Shaun. He came back with a big smile.
"We are going to move up to the log cabin for a while."
"All right." I smiled. "What do we need to bring besides our clothes?"
"I do not know. Let us go up and see."
We went through the main chamber and down the Northeast corridor and up the spiral staircase. The Council made the staircase so that who ever was staying in the cabin would not have to go outside to come to the cave."
You came up into a small room at the back of the cabin. We knocked on the door. Samuel opened it.
"Hello! Welcome. Come in."
We followed him in. Cassie came running out of the kitchen.
"Mom. Dad. It is so good to see you." She hugged her Dad then me. She sniffed then smiled. "Are you hungry?" She giggled.
"No I am all right Cassie. I ate before we came up."
"You have not been here since they finished the cabin." We shook our heads.
"I will show you around. This room here is the pantry." We walked into the kitchen. "This, of course, is the kitchen."
"It looks like the one back in London."
"I designed it that way."
"Good job." I nodded.
"This is the common room. There are four bedrooms off of this one and another six bedrooms upstairs."
"It is quite big."
"They fashioned it after the boarding houses."
"Good idea." Paddy said.
"It is so lonely up here." Cassie sighed.
"Well then we have some good news for you."
"Oh?"
"Mom can not breathe with all the mortals. We were thinking of coming up here for the winter." We were hugged tightly.
"Do you need any help with your things?" Samuel said smiling.
We spent the next few hours moving out things to the log cabin. We left our bed and furniture in our quarters. We would be still using it to bathe in our pool.
Cassie and I started making bread to help Katey. She had twice the amount of people to feed for the winter.
At night we would sit out on the porch watching the sunset.
"The Chief was telling Councilman Klaus that it will not be long before the snow comes." Paddy was telling us.
"I believe that it is becoming colder every day." Samuel said. "Look at the clouds. They do not look like any rain clouds I have ever seen."
We watched the clouds coming towards us. The wind was picking up and the temperature was dropping fast.
It started to snow and snow.
It snowed for two days. We had to shovel off the porch and dig out the doors.
The Council decided to put a large door at the entrance to stop the wind from blowing in. It helped keep the mortals warm.
