"I am sure it is."
"I do not mean this in a bad way but you remind me of my mom."
"I do. How?"
She looked at me with a slight tilt to her head.
"For one, you have the same name and eyes. I always remember my mom's eyes. Always friendly and when she looked at you it was always with love. You do that when you are with your family. I can see the love in your eyes."
"You can, can you?"
"Yes Mum. Miss Katey says you are special." We walked into the kitchen. Katey turned to me. "Suzie, I told you when she had time."
"I have time now Katey. I have nothing pressing."
"Sorry Kylie. I thought she misunderstood me."
"All is good Katey. How many do you need?"
"Thirty."
"All right." I went to the chicken coop to get the chickens when I came back Connor was very upset.
"Why do we have to feed them Miss Katey? They are not nice people. They are very rude and arrogant. My Da always says that God will punish them for their wicked ways."
"And he will Connor. He will." Katey told him. "Tomorrow I will send one of the Guards to bring them their food."
"Thank you Miss Katey. I really do not like them."
"Do not worry Connor not too many people like them."
"I see why." I walked back in.
"Sorry Kylie."
"Why be sorry Katey. Everyone knows what they are like. Unfortunately so do your helpers."
"I knew you would understand." Katey smiled.
I went into the culling room. When I was done I turned around to find I had an audience. "How do you do that so fast Miss Kylie?"
"Practice Suzie."
"My Ma could only do two at a time. You did thirty." She shook her head.
I cleaned up the room. Katey was waiting for me.
"Kylie my sister will be here tomorrow."
"That is great Katey. It will be nice to see her. You must be very excited."
"I am more nervous Kylie. I do not know what she will say about us living here."
"Why would she have a problem with you living here?"
"She is not very fond of my husband's special abilities."
"Oh? Did you ever tell her about us?"
"No" She turned red.
"Oh dear, how are you going explain all this to her?" I pointed to her surroundings.
"I am not sure."
"If I think of anything I will let you know."
