Paddy, Quinn, Shaun, Shannon and Colleen shifted. The werewolves transformed. The rest of us went into bloodlust.
We ran incredible fast.
"How did they travel so far so fast?" Scott asked while we ran.
"They were on horseback."
"Is that so? We can run faster then a horse."
We ran along the base of the escarpment.
We met two black panthers. Cory shifted with Paddy standing in front of him.
"They have stopped for the night. Our two squads have them surrounded." He looked at us. "What is going on?"
"Councilman Klaus gave us permission to show ourselves."
He smiled. "Yes!"
Gen as a panther roared.
We joined the other two squads. We waited until they had settled down. I moved around the perimeter to find the McCurdys. I moved closer to their enclosure. Our friendly natives called them 'tepees.'
I lifted the back of the tepee and went in.
"Miss Kylie." Suzie whispered.
"It is all right. The Guard has the camp surrounded if you hear anything frightening do not worry. It is only us showing ourselves." I smiled.
They laughed.
Jules and Benjamin had introduced us to them a few months after they came to live in the cavern. They could not believe that the stories their parents told them were true.
They knew us as friendly people. They were about to see the nightmare side.
I stayed near the opening of the tepee in case anyone came to harm them. I motioned for them to stay to one side. Unfortunately they could see all the fighting outsides.
I heard someone sneaking into the tepee. The native grabbed the closest one which was Mike. He screamed. I cut off the native's head then I picked up the head and body and threw it outside.
A few minutes later everything went quiet.
"Kylie are you with the children?"
"Yes." I walked out of the tepee with them. Paddy stood beside me. Quinn rubbed up against Suzie.
She giggled. "Kylie who is beside me?"
"Quinn." She hugged him.
I was rubbing Paddy's head. He was purring. We were surrounded by wolves, cats, birds, and vampires.
"You are amazing." Connor said.
Everyone bowed to them.
Scott, Walter and Barry brought three horses for them to ride.
"You do not run as fast as we do."
They mounted the horses.
"Let us go home." Paddy said.
There were two vampires running beside each horse.
A squad stayed behind to dispose of the bodies. They brought the rest of the horses with them.
Katey and Jules were walking out when we returned just before sunrise.
"You found them." Katey said excitedly.
She hugged each of them. "I am so glad you are safe and sound." Jules hugged them also.
"I am taking Katey to watch the sunrise." All of them yelled. "You can see!" They hugged her again.
Councilman Klaus walked out of the hill entrance.
"Welcome back." He smiled.
All the werewolves and shifters came out after him. We used the one of the log cabins to stable the horses.
The McCurdys went straight to their pool and bathed.
