Paddy and I decided to take the Boys to Montreal to give them a change of scenery.
The next group was leaving in a few days. Wilbert and Mikalia will be going too. One of their sons was coming to take them home.
We had a big farewell party for them. Mikalia never let go of Ramon. It would be a while before she would see him again.
They had stayed almost a year which is very short time in our life span.
Some of Wilbert's family that came with him decided to stay in the New World. It was an emotional goodbye. They lost ten sailing over here, now ten were staying. They were bringing home ten.
"Wilbert, Mikalia and the rest of your family it was an honour to have you here as our guests." Councilman Klaus told them."
"Perhaps sometime we can return the favour." Wilbert said.
"Yes Wilbert. One day we will come to visit."
They said their goodbyes.
Two days later we were in Montreal.
Wilbert's son, Pedro was waiting for them.
The Boys were very excited. "Senor Wilbert may we see your son's ship?"
"I do not see why not. Come my friends."
"Allo Pedro. May we come abroad?" Wilbert looked at the Boys. "You must always ask permission to go on a ship or else they will throw you off."
"Yes Sir."
We walked up the gangway, Wilbert greeted his son.
"It is good to see you my Son."
"Father it warms my heart to see you too."
They embraced.
"Pedro, my young friends here have never been on a ship like yours. May they look around?"
"Of course. I will show you around."
Pedro gave them a tour of the ship. They asked a lot of questions. At the end of the tour. Wilbert wanted to know when they would be leaving.
"Not for a few days yet Father. I am waiting for my shipment."
"Then we will find an inn to stay at."
"There is plenty of room on my ship. You may all stay here until we sail."
"Mom. Dad. Can we?" The Boys asked excitedly. Pedro was nodding behind them. "All right."
We used Pedro's ship as our inn. We were able to show all Wilbert's family and the Boys the settlement of Montreal.
Shaun's sister, Shannon had come with us. She was enjoying the little shops along the main street. She had found an apothecary and told Scott about it. After that she brought John there. He bought a variety of spices and herbs for Katey.
The next day she came back to the ship drunk. Paddy had to help her walk up the gangway. "Aunt Shannon what have you been doing?"
"I sipped a shop. No. No. I found a wine shop. They let me try some."
"I think it was more then some." He smiled then took her down to her cabin.
She came back up a few hours later with a headache. She was holding a cold cloth on her head.
"Oh my head." She moaned. She leaned against the railing.
Paddy walked over to her. "Aunt Shannon we are going to go out and feed tonight. Would like to come?" He said softly.
