We waited for the three of them to come.
Elder Camarillo came over to the children. He was trying to soothe them with some funny stories from his childhood.
They chuckled a few times. He tried.
Tessa and Gillian were with Liam. Lizzy and Beverly came from a different corridor.
Tessa and Gillian ran to their children.
"What has happened? Why are you so upset?" They asked.
"I will tell you later Ladies." Vincent told them.
The girls were crying. The boys stayed close to their father. Paddy and I embraced the Boys.
"Elder Camarillo we came as soon as we could. We have brought the whips."
"I understand I have pulled you a way from your duties but I would like you," he pointed to the shifters, "to give the prisoners ten lashes for each child they insulted."
"They have insulted children. How many?" Liam asked
"Eight."
They nodded then went and stood by the shackles.
"Shaun call the Guard to escort the prisoners to their shackles." Councilman Klaus ordered.
"Yes Sir."
Shaun did not have to call anyone. The Guards, that heard the Councilman, came running into the square. There were fifty of them.
"You do me proud." Shaun said smiling.
"Sir!" They gave him a Roman salute.
"Escort detail. Bring the prisoners to their shackles."
"Sir."
Ten of the Guard went to the cell door. They started a double line from there to the shackles.
"Barry open the door."
"Walk to your shackles." Elder Camarillo ordered.
Crispin, Marisa then Caleb walked to their shackles. Liam, Lizzy and Beverly put the shackles on them.
"Elder Camarillo we are not to be flogged for another five days." Crispin said.
"You will be. Today you are being punished for insulting these eight children."
"We did not insult them. We told them what they were." He said with a sneer.
"Exactly." Elder Camarillo said. "Proceed!" He nodded.
All the children stopped their crying to hear the sound of the whip hitting its mark.
When they were done.
"Papa why are they being punished again in five days?' Misha asked Vincent.
"It is for what they did to our sister and brother Misha."
"Oh?" Misha whispered.
Everyone stared at the Boys. They of course said it in unison.
The prisoners were unshackled. No one helped them back to their cell.
We took the Boys back to our quarters. Paddy and I sat the Boys down at the kitchen table. "How do you know about your brother and sister?" Paddy asked them.
"Momma told us." Paddy looked at me. I shook my head.
"No. No. Momma did not speak it. We saw it when she was sleeping."
"Oh you mean in her dreams."
"Yes dreams."
"Uncle Athos and Vincent should be punished too."
