"No I suddenly feel very full. The little one moved." She smiled then winced.
Cassie watched Samuel eat until he was done.
"Come walk with me." She held out her hand.
We followed them down into the main chamber then into our quarters.
We sat in the common room. Cassie had brought Samuel down to the bathing pool.
"Is it not too early for her?" Paddy asked.
"She was not sure how far along she was."
"Oh?"
There was a knock at the door. Paddy went to answer it.
"Good Day Cory. Annabelle. Come in."
"It is nice to see you down here. Annabelle is finding the stairs a little difficult." Cory said.
"It is hard to see them." I said smiling.
"Walter told me that Cassie and Samuel were down here also."
"Yes they are but they went down to the bathing pool."
"Oh?"
I had leaned back in the chair and was rubbing my belly. Annabelle was doing the same thing.
Paddy and Cory were smiling at us. Mariela was helping her mother rub her belly.
"The baby likes this Momma."
"Yes Sweetie."
Everything was quiet for a few minutes.
"How is it we are going to be fathers at the same time?"
"I do not know Cory." Paddy answered.
"What are they doing down there?" Cory asked.
"Having a baby."
"What?!" They said together.
"It is Cassie's time." Paddy said.
"I thought she was after you." Cory said pointing to me.
"She was not quite sure but this morning she needed to go for a walk."
"Oh! And she came down here."
We nodded.
"Does this mean we are guarding a 'Sacred Pond'?"
"I guess so."
We sat talking for a long time waiting for Cassie and Samuel to come back up.
Wilbert, Mikalia, Colleen, Shaun, Lizzy, Liam, Gen and Melissa were at the kitchen table eating when Samuel came up with the baby. He looked very tired.
"Where is Cassie?" I asked.
"Right here." She said coming around Samuel.
I took one look at her. I knew what she needed.
"Come with me. We will be right back."
We left the cave and found an elk nearby. She drained it. We dragged back for Katey. We were back in our quarter's minutes later.
Everyone was cooing to the baby.
"You look better." Samuel said to Cassie. She smiled.
"I needed some blood to replace what I lost."
"Oh!" He kissed her gently. "What would you like to name our son?"
She thought for a moment. "Ramon."
"Ramon Brecken." Samuel said proudly.
"Welcome Ramon Brecken." Wilbert said from across the room.
Wilbert and Mikalia walked over and kissed Samuel and Cassie.
