the water pillar had been playing an odd game of catching with the demon that he was hunting down. the demon was a rather odd one. he possesses the ability of becoming a lower moon but yet his eyes had no such engravings.

the only thing the demon was good at was avoiding and running. that borderline pissed off the water pillar who just wanted to get the job done. he didn't want to play this game of catch all the way until sunrise. it was preposterous in his opinion, for a demon to evade his attacks so efficiently.

he had reached the village to gather information on the demon lurking around and by night fall, he had managed to find the filthy monster. he knew that the more time he spent, chasing the demon, the more his stamina would deteriate.

finally.

the water pillar was in a good position to decapitating the demon.

"water breathing; tenth form: constant flux."

like a dragon, its continuous form strike the demon's neck, finally decapitating it. no words were exchanged between the water pillar and the demon. the demon seemingly had given up already since the start and had been running for its life.

giyu placed his sword back in and walked back to his inn. taking a long, warm shower, he had changed back into his uniform and realised that his arm was scratched. a jarring line grazed on his arm.

probably from the trees. giyu thought to himself. i'll get it treated later. sadly for him, his haori was torn at the area. he would have to send it for mending by the kakushis.

getting ready for bed, giyu looked at the empty bento set on the table. a small smile crept up his face.

the simmered salmon and daikon was good.
the stoic demon slayer thought to himself. his heart was slightly warmed by the girl's unexpected action. he would have to thank her for that when he gets back to the headquarters. knowing where she had lived, he asked kanzaburo to deliver a message to her. hopefully he remembered.

"KAW LADY L/N!"
kanzaburo arrived in the morning, when y/n was feeding the crows.

"hello kanzaburo, what brings you here?"
y/n asked simply.

"message from the water pillar, tomioka-sama! permission to head to your estate in the afternoon! permission to head to your estate in the afternoon! afternoon!"
y/n was surprised at kanzaburo's words. nevertheless, she agreed and awaited for the water pillar's arrival.

as kanzaburo flew away to convey the message to his owner, y/n clapped her hands together. it's time to reveal the mission.

"i will need five volunteers for a rather dangerous mission. it is good experience for your upcoming final test."
y/n introduced the mission to the red light district. the more outspoken crows wanted to go attend to the mission. in the end, y/n had picked and selected five crows to aid the sound pillar.

"tsuki, report to me on any abnormalities."
y/n conveyed her instructions to tsuki. the crow was rather excited on her mission since it would be one of the few times that she would get to explore the outside world.

"yes lady y/n!"
tsuki called out happily.

"stay safe tsuki."
y/n patted tsuki who moved closer upon the affection of her owner.

with that, the crows went off to the sound pillar's estate where they would begin their new mission.
