y/n tried to get her mind off from what kagaya had told her. it seemed impossible. life is fleeting. mankind don't fear death. they fear the aftermath of it. the wind pillar had escorted her back to her house. the trip back was silent. sanemi could tell that y/n was troubled. yet he didn't question it.

bowing down, y/n thanked the wind pillar for his time. that was when sanemi had let out a string of words.

"i don't know what happened during the time you were with oyakata-sama but the frown doesn't suit you."
was all sanemi had said before leaving y/n with her thoughts. her eyes were puffy from all the crying. she tried to compose herself before meeting sanemi but it didn't work since he saw right through her.

tsuki perched herself on y/n's shoulder. the crow gazed at her owner in concern. due to a deplete in her mood, y/n decided to not train the crows and stayed in her room. she was currently preparing letters to be sent to the hashiras regarding the autumn festival.

shiro crept into the room with a stretch. as y/n prepared the materials, he used his cat paw to stroke y/n's legs for her attention.

noticing it, y/n picked up the white cat and placed him on her lap. patting her head and giving the fur ball her affection. a smile adorned shiro's face as he got showered by y/n's affection.

mama are you alright?
shiro asked y/n who was taken aback by how shiro had addressed her. usually shiro would address her in a formal way. this was the first time he had called her like that. a sad smile reached y/n's lips as she hugged her cat.

she was sure that the tears was at bay and yet when shiro asked, she felt like she was about to crack and her tears would start falling again.

"mm yeah, mama is alright, don't worry shiro."
y/n replied in a false sweet tone. even shiro can tell that something is wrong. i need to get my act together. y/n told herself, pecking shiro's snout.

mama i love you.
shiro's words made y/n's heart warm. without knowing, a stream of tears fell again. shiro licked away y/n's tears, cleaning her face while y/n chuckled and patted her loving cat.

"me too shiro, i love you."
y/n stated with a smile, placing a kiss on the spot in between shiro's ears. giving her full cuddles, shiro stayed by y/n's side. he had always did that when y/n was sad and this was one of the times.

kagaya wouldn't want me to mope about it.
y/n thought to herself, pulling herself away from the cuddles. shiro stayed on y/n's lap as accompaniment. y/n then dipped her calligraphy brush into the ink.

one more done... i'm left with uzui-san. y/n thought to herself. she was finished with the rest of the pillar and was left with the former sound pillar's invitation. she made sure to make her letter extra flashy... well y/n hoped that it was.

hello! i hope that you are recovering well. how are your wifes? i hope that they are doing well! there's a flamboyant autumn festival coming up and i was wondering if you would have the time during then. i have sent invitations to the other hashiras. i would love to see your wives too if they are free! hinatsuru and i have been exchanging letters and i can't wait to see her! continue staying flamboyant and flashy!

is that enough flamboyance?... i did use the word twice... y/n sweat dropped at herself for trying to match with uzui's energy.

"tsuki."
y/n called for her crow. the said crow flew by her shoulder and gazed at the numerous letters. shiro's ears perked up at the sound and noticing that it was just about the letters, he snuggled himself on y/n's lap. y/n patted shiro's fur, making shiro even happier.

"could you send this to the pillars?"
y/n tied the first letter to tsuki's legs, which just happens to be giyu's letter, securing it with a yarn.

"CAW! deliver to the water estate!"
tsuki repeated her orders before flying off. tsuki flew with grace as she reached the water estate in no time. giyu was currently doing stamina training and was alerted when tsuki had came by to drop y/n's letter.

"CAW! LETTER FROM Y/N-SAMA! CAW! LETTER FROM Y/N-SAMA!"
giyu forgot how loud y/n's crow could be when it was matters related to her master. he untied the string and read the contents of the letter. tsuki flew back to the l/n's estate with smirk on her face. hehehehhhe. tsuki thought to herself, shipping the two.

as giyu read the letter, a small smile reached his face. dismissing his training, giyu went to his room to write back a letter.

i'll visit her tomorrow. giyu thought to himself, writing his reply.
