y/n had 4 years left with giyu.
she tried to keep that thought off her head but she couldn't.
but she was alright with that fact.
they were alright.
THREE YEAR LATER.
"giyuuuuu...."
y/n dragged her words, she was currently on her futon. her hair as a tangled mess but it looked like perfection in giyu's eyes."yes love?"
he replied. the man was seated on his futon which was right beside y/n's."are you making breakfast? i feel like going to the streets for (breakfast of choice)."
y/n said, scooting closer to giyu to wrap her arms around his torso. reacting to y/n's touch, giyu leaned down to place a gentle kiss on her cheeks."anything you want."
placing another feathery kiss on her lips. a giddy smile was plastered on y/n's face."help me out of bed?"
y/n unwrapped her hands and raised it up for giyu to take. giyu bit back a smile at y/n's unknown teasing. using his singular hand, he pulled y/n up with ease.despite retiring from being a hashira, giyu still worked out to ensure his body was in tip top condition. it was no secret that y/n was attractive to giyu... his built body was just a plus point. y/n got to cleaning herself up and making herself look presentable. the hair accessory that giyu had bought for her adorning her h/c hair.
"ready?"
giyu asked, checking the amount of coins he had in his pouch that would be hidden in his sleeve."yeah, let's go."
y/n held onto his hand after giving shiro a kiss on his snout. the white cat purring in reply.the two married couple walked down the street, greeting the stall owners simultaneously. y/n savoured her breakfast with a contented expression on her face. giyu on the other hand was happy because his wife was happy.
yes, the two did get married in the three short years.
in less than a year of loving each other, giyu proposed and y/n accepted his proposal. the two had a small wedding. with their close friends invited and receiving their congratulations. uzui was elated at the news and tried to help with the planning to make the the 'most flamboyant wedding ever'. giyu shot him down and instead gave the wedding of y/n's dream.
a secluded one that was only surrounded by their loved ones.
the two made their way back to y/n's estate. giyu had moved in to y/n's estate since her place held sentimental value to her. the former water hashira viewed the water estate merely as a place to rest after his work. there were no emotional attachment nor was there any value in the water mansion. hence, giyu decided move into y/n's estate.
"kiriya-kun?"
y/n voiced, looking at the boy who grew up in age. the boy held an envelop in his hands."good morning l/n-sama, tomioka-sama."
the boy bowed in respect."would you like to come in?"
y/n smiled, giyu bowed too and went into the house to feed shiro and the crows. it became a routine for giyu, to start caring for y/n's animals."it's alright l/n-sama. i am here to deliver a letter."
kiriya held the envelop with his two hands. y/n took the letter into hers and said her thanks. kiriya left soon after."what's the letter about?"
giyu asked, in the midst of playing with shiro."i don't know... kiriya-kun just told me that he was here to deliver a letter."
giyu frowned. it was a really random gesture but continued to play with shiro."odd."
giyu muttered under his breath. y/n then took a seat beside giyu and ripped open the envelop. a slightly yellowish paper was seen.a familiar set of handwriting stared right at y/n.
giyu shifted his attention to the letter in y/n's hands. shiro getting the cue to leave the two alone.
To my dear y/n,
As I write this letter, I presume that a member of the Ubuyashiki family will deliver it to you when you reach 23.
First and foremost, happy belated birthday. I am very sorry for not being there with you as you get older. I am sure that you have grown into a beautiful lady. I wonder if you have settled down already. If you have, congratulations, I have very happy for you.
I gave birth to you when I was 15. Back then, I couldn't understand much of motherly love but the moment I saw you in my arms, I promised to myself that I was going to protect you. For that, I have kept you away from an important piece of information.
As I am 24, writing this, my life has been shortened significantly.
The gift that we were said to be blessed with, our ability to communicate with animals, is in fact a curse in disguise. The reason why we do not have any relatives is due to the fact that they will perish by the age of 25. No one lives past 25. That is why the woman in the L/n family must produce an offspring for the curse may overtake them soon enough.
There are two way's out of this curse. Let it consume you or end yourself before it does.
I believe that I would choose the latter in the near future. Well, this is the present me writing, I do not know what the future will hold.
The curse will activate when you reach 24. The sounds of animals will grow increasingly sharp. Louder and louder. You will hear all their thoughts, blood circulation, heartbeats even. Even the smallest of animals likes ants for an example, an insect that you shouldn't be able to hear or listen to will become audible.
It'll drive you to insanity.
By 25, the curse will then consume you in your sleep.
I am very sorry to have inform you this dreadful information so late. However I trust my judgement as a form of protection. Live your life happily and safely. I'll be watching over you.
With love, M/n.
y/n's breath hitched. i'm going to die soon too?...
a/n:
such a goofy chapter / and the countdown continues... 3 more left!
