"the wind pillar, shinazugawa sanemi, he's hot headed."
y/n nodded in reply.

"the serpent pillar, iguro obanai, he's calmer than shinazugawa-san and hates demons."

"the sound pillar, uzui tengen, he's loud. really loud."

"the mist pillar, tokito muichiro, he's forgetful."

"forgetful?"
y/n questioned at the odd description.

"he forgets that he's a pillar."
giyu simply stated.

y/n's mouth formed an 'o' shaped. her guess would be trauma that caused the boy's forgetfulness.

"that's all."
the water pillar concluded. by then, the pair had already reached the l/n estate that was adorned in wisteria flowers, glimmering in the twilight.

the house was humongous for just only one person living in it but she had grown to like it since her crows would also live with her. there wasn't much decorations in the estate since it had been passed down since the Edo era, plain due to her mother.

when she was young, the house had different statues and figures that she would fond engaging to play with but once her mother found out that she was playing instead of studying, she ordered for the house to be bare and practically only necessities were inside.

the only thing different was that shiro had his own room. it was filled with cat stuff just for him. the little cat had been waiting for his owner for the past hour. when he hear her footsteps and other unfamiliar sound, his ears perked up and he pranced down the stairs to the first floor.

lady y/n!! the cat wanted to jump at y/n but he decided not to when he realised that she was holding onto a crow.

"hello shiro!"
y/n greeted the white fur ball. the crows started squawking loudly.

"KAW! KAW! LADY L/N!! WELCOME BACK KAW!"
"SQUAK! LADY L/N WE MISS YOU!"
"KAW! KAW! LADY Y/N!!!!"
y/n placed her index finger, resting it on her lips to silence the excited crows. immediately, the crows hushed down.

"we have a guest here, be on your best behaviour."
y/n smiled at her crow and invited the water pillar in. giyu sweat dropped at the crow's enthusiasm and the similarities she held with oyakata-sama. she brought out one of her bird beds and laid kaname inside it.

shiro being the alert cat he is, jumped up on y/n and snuggled into her. y/n was more or less not surprised by his actions since he would always do that. right then, he took a peek at the water pillar who was observing him.

"this is tomioka giyu, the water pillar. tomioka-san, this is my cat, shiro."
y/n introduced the two to each other.

"he's friendly, you can pat him if you want."
giyu nodded and decided to pat shiro's head. shiro closed his eyes and enjoyed the head pats he was getting. giyu's hands were calloused and rough but the cat like the feeling of his hands caressing on his fur.

i like this guy.
shiro meowed at y/n who chuckled.

"shiro said that he likes you."
y/n informed giyu who had a soft smile on his face. the girl was mesmerised by giyu's smile. it looked ethereal in her opinion. she was staring silently at him and when giyu looked up at her, they had accidentally made eye contact. giyu didn't mean to have slipped up a smile but it was too late to cover it since the girl saw him. 

heat brushed up y/n's cheeks in embarrassment.

"w-what tea would you like?"
y/n asked in a slightly higher pitched voice.

"anything is alright."
giyu replied. he took a seat at the table. shiro ditching y/n to receive more head pats from the man. giyu was shocked that the cat would follow him to the table and had taken a seat beside him.

y/n return back with a cup of (tea leaf) tea for giyu.

"thank you."
the man thanked and took a sip of the tea.

do i get a treat too?
shiro meowed at y/n,

"no, shiro, you already had dinner."
y/n replied the cat who leaned closer to giyu instead. the girl sighed and didn't bother to please her cat.

a short 20 minutes passed. y/n had asked multiple questions on the news of a demon slayer with his companion, his sister demon. giyu explained the situation without much hesitance and the girl understood and supported it.

"when would be a good time for me to introduce myself to the pillars?..."
it was mere thought and the girl didn't mean to say it out loud.

unfortunately, she did.

"we would be having a pillar meeting soon. two days from now. you can come."
y/n nodded, pleased with that idea.

"i'll see you then, tomioka-san."
