"shinazugawa-sama, the master will be here soon."
kiriya stated, leading the man into a room  for waiting. sanemi nodded and waited for the master to address him.

soon after, the door slid open, revealing the master with the crow trainer behind him. instantaneously, sanemi kneeled down in respect.

"hello sanemi."
kagaya greeted in his soothing voice.

"good afternoon oyakata-sama, lady l/n. i fervently pray for the health of you both."
kagaya smiled at his greetings and immediately conveyed the situation to the blood thirsty wind pillar.

"i would like to request that you escort y/n up the mountain to her estate."
y/n's head perked up at kagaya's request.

"it's alright! the mission is more important, time is of the essence."
y/n tried to refuse but sanemi understood his master words.

"as you wish, oyakata-sama."
with a bow, sanemi walked out of the room with y/n following behind him. kagaya didn't explain the full details since he wanted y/n to relay the information instead.

"y/n do tell him the information that i have left out."
kagaya stated, y/n nodded and bid her goodbyes to the master.

"kagaya didn't mention it but... you'll be on a joint mission with the water pillar."
those words surprised sanemi.

that asshole?! why did i get paired up with him!?

with a tick mark on his forehead, y/n could tell that he was displeased with the situation.

"my apologies if you are upset with the pairing... initially kagaya wanted you and iguro-san to work together. but giyu patrols near asakusa, so its more convenient."
y/n explained further on and the annoyed wind pillar only grunted a response.

"the demon that you'll be facing is the upper moon 4, according to my crows, there are multiple version of the demon and they possess different abilities."

"demons working together?"
sanemi asked, intrigued by y/n's description. with a nod, y/n continued.

"my guess would be that there is a main body and that those are decoys."
y/n stated her opinion. she couldn't help but feel intimidated by the wind pillar. she wasn't exactly scared but she was more wary of the words that she spoke. their exchange was rather calm, calmer than what sanemi would have with regular people.

the man had to keep in mind that this weak girl beside him holds an important position in the demon slayer corps.

"are there no kakushis that live with you?"
sanemi didn't want to admit it but he was curious as to why the l/n estate had a rather dull aura around it. he knew that no one was supposed to know of her existence-- but what about the times where she was sick? when she needs help? when misfortune strikes?

was this girl going to fend it all by herself?

shaking her head, y/n recollected the memories when she was still young, her mother by her side.

"the kakushis doesn't know about me. my mother used to live with me in the estate, but she's not here anymore."
y/n stated quite plainly, it was enough information that answered the wind pillar's question. there was no emotions in her tone. no hint of sadness, happiness. just empty.

"my bad if i bring up any bad memories."
sanemi sort of apologised for his question. it was a personal one, just out of mere curiosity. y/n brought her hand out in defence, waving them.

"it's alright, it was quite a long time ago."
with a forced smile, y/n walked up the mountain a little faster.

y/n thought about the plausible information that kagaya had left out and that she has yet to convey. thinking back, she realised that there was no more information to be relayed. so the two were now in a silence.

"i have a few ohagis at home, would you like to take them on your mission?"
y/n asked. she had prepared a number of ohagis as offerings for her ancestors. thus leaving some for consumption for herself. sanemi's eyes brightened just a little at the mention of his favourite food.

"you bet so."
