"y/n-chan you should go enjoy the festival! i still want to eat more food!" 
mitsuri had a light blush on her face as obanai stayed beside her. y/n initially wanted to stay but had underestimated the hungry love pillar as she was on her 40th sakura mochi. y/n reluctantly agreed albeit she still wanted to converse more with mitsuri. 

"tomioka-san, you should accompany y/n-chan!" 
mitsuri threw a wink at y/n who blew into flames as she tried to hide her burning cheeks. giyu nodded a reply and stood up quite abruptly. obanai eyed the two with hidden question marks at what mitsuri was trying to. 

the snake pillar had recognised the socks that he had gifted her that were hidden under her kimono. that warmed his heart, knowing that his gift was appreciated by his crush. 

"see you later mitsuri-chan, obanai-san!" 
y/n waved at them. her mind went to muichiro who got kidnapped by the one and only flashy former sound pillar and his wives. his wives gushed over the 14 year old and had wanted to spoil him. muichiro had no room for defiance and had followed them. 

y/n looked around with awe, glancing at the many games that were offered and items. her eyes wandered around and had stopped on an accessory stand where many hairpins and necklaces were sold. giyu tailed behind her, noticing her interest in the shiny accessories. 

he had made a mental note to gift her one that had caught her eyes the most as a thank you present for all she had done. 

the girl reached for a (design of choice) hairpin. it was gorgeous in her opinion. amongst the many designs, it had caught her eyes the most. wanting to purchase it, her attention drifted to a person calling out her name. 

"y/n...." 
whipping her head around and placing the hairpin down, giyu too looked at the voice. 

"muichiro-kun?"
y/n voiced out, walking over the the teenager who looked exhausted. tengen's flashiness was unreal as she could spot him from a distance. 

"can i follow you instead? uzui-san is..." 
muichiro couldn't formulate his words. it was a no brainer that uzui and his wives had overwhelmed him. y/n gently patted muichiro's head with a smile. 

"of course, muichiro-kun. is there any snack you want to try or games?" 
y/n asked, taking a glance at the water pillar who remained quiet. at the corner of her eyes, she saw him place something beneath his uniform, hiding and securing it. 

"i wanted to scoop goldfishes but... uzui-san made it competitive and the stall owner kicked us out." 
with a downcast expression, y/n let out a light laugh at the boy's words. 

"let's go catch some goldfish then." 
y/n smiled. looking at the hairpin she had previously wanted to purchase, it was gone. saddened by it, y/n pushed away her emotions and found a goldfish store with giyu and muichiro. 

she paid for the game and the two of them started trying to catch goldfishes. giyu stayed by the side lines and watched over them with an invisible smile. 

it was times like this he felt that his hard work had paid off. protecting humans from the merciless demons for humans to continue to smile and enjoy their lives.

blessed with the ability to converse with animals, it was quite easy for y/n to catch the fishes. her poi ended up breaking when numerous fishes had found comfort on her poi. muichiro mused at the goldfishes. 

in the end, the two gifted their bags of gold fish to kids who were fascinated by it. as much as y/n wanted to keep the fishes, she knew that shiro would think of them as live snacks. knowing her little cat, the goldfishes would never see daylight again.

"y/n-nee*" 
muichro called out. y/n's eyes widened at the boy's words. 
*nee is used to call a person their older sister.

"is it alright if i call you that?" 
he softly asked. y/n nodded her head enthusiastically with a bright smile. muichiro had thought of y/n as his sister figure. despite losing his memory and his forgetful self, he took notice of the letters y/n had sent to him. asking him to stay safe and to not overexert himself, at that point of time, he didn't think much of it. however now, his heart was warmed by her concern.  

"the fireworks are starting soon." 
giyu said, taking notice of the crowd that had formed around the firework launchers. right then, uzui and his wives had ambushed the trio and taken muichiro away. giyu brought her away from the crowd and had led the girl to a silent spot where there was a clear view of the sky and the ongoing festival. 

the crowd chanted a countdown and y/n waiting in anticipation. nervous, giyu fiddled on the gift he had bought for the girl and waited for the right timing.

fireworks bloomed in the dark sky, illuminating it. colours sparkled and glistened in the moonlight. it was a beautiful sight. a gasp left y/n as she watched the fireworks. it was her first ever time. despite the stunning sight, giyu's eyes were put on y/n. he wanted to capture her reaction in his head like a photograph. 

a pout left y/n as she realised the firework show had come to an end. 

"y/n." 
giyu softly called out the girl. his hands were gripped onto his gift. y/n hummed a reply and faced him. she had been so immersed in the autumn festival that the thought of her spending alone time with giyu had completely flown off her head. 

now the thought was resurfacing. 

"close your eyes and open your hand." 
giyu didn't know how he should approach it and hence decided to be straightforward with it. 

confused, y/n did it regardless and shut her eyes while bringing her hand out. right then, he heard a soft exhale from giyu and a item on her hand. 

"you can open them now." 
giyu said, awaiting for her reaction. he was unsure on how y/n would react and had unknowingly held a breath. 

upon opening her eyes, y/n held in a gasp as she saw the hairpin that she was eyeing at the stall. immediately without any consideration, y/n engulfed giyu in a tight hug. 

muttering a thank you in his ears as she sunk herself in giyu's torso. the man securing his arms around hers too, returning the hug. pink dusted the tip of their cheeks as they enjoyed the warmth from each other bodies. 

it was a long hug. no words were conveyed and yet so much raw emotions were shown. 

"thank you so much giyu." 
y/n said, her eyes shut as she broke the hug. seeing that his face was as red as hers, she felt relieved. 

a thought had came to giyu during their hug. 

if peace is finally restored, i'll will ask her to be mine.
