PEACE | demon slayer

the two descended the mountain with kanzaburo and tsuki soaring the evening sky. the two crows were bickering between themselves whilst enjoying the evening breeze. y/n made small talks with the water pillar who didn't really give much a reply but tried to. 

soon after, the ubuyashiki estate came into view. 

two of the quintuples greeted them. giyu waited in the backyard, finding the flowers planted interesting. y/n followed nichika and kanata to kagaya who was waiting for the presence of the crow trainer. 

"hello y/n." 
kagaya greeted the girl. in a span of a few days, his curse had negatively affected him drastically. yet he kept a strong front to not show y/n that he was indeed suffering from the curse. y/n saw through that but decided to not say it. amane had left the room for the two to have a daughter-father talk and a professional one about the corps. 

"how are you feeling?"
y/n asked, taking a seat beside kagaya. 

"my body is getting weaker, y/n." 
y/n reached for kagaya's hand. it was cold to the touch yet a hidden warmth was in it. kagaya still had that gentle smile on his face as he caressed y/n's hand with his thumb. it took him much effort to control his muscles but it still did it. 

his time was ticking. 

he had to make use of every single second. 

"the upper demon 6 was defeated by tengen." 
kagaya shared with the girl. y/n had already been informed by the news since tsuki told her. she was elated by the news. 

"we're one step closer in getting closer to kibutsuji." 
kagaya continued. y/n stayed silent and allowed the master to lead to his points. 

"i believe that kibutsuji would be high on alert on the kamado siblings" 
y/n connected the dots as she thought about the siblings. the brother, tanjiro, being a demon slayer and his sister, nezuko, being a demon that had retained her human emotions. y/n wanted to meet the two to express her gratitude but was still hesitant on revealing her presence. 

"my guess is that kibutsuji would be after nezuko. he had sent upper moon 3 to attack kyojuro and them in the infinity train. tanjiro was there during the fight with the upper moon six. he played a significant role in defeated the demon with hashibara innosuke and agatsuma zenitsu."

the names were not foreign to y/n. the girl too memorised the slayers that worked for the demon slayer corps. she was amazed at the teenagers ability to fight and fend off an upper demon. 

"tanjiro seemed to have a mark during the fight with the upper moon. i have asked my children to research on the marks and we have been getting leads on it. yet they were vague. y/n can i ask a favour from you?"
kagaya asked the girl who was surprised at his request. y/n would do anything for kagaya. 

"of course, you don't need to ask." 
kagaya smiled and reached for her head to softly pat. 

"could you check on the l/n estate library on the demon slayer mark. i believe that m/n had kept a number of books on it. the sound pillar, tengen has also decided to retire." 
y/n nodded, digesting the information. the mighty sound pillar retiring could only mean that he had received severe injuries. i should pay him a visit. y/n thought to herself.

"regarding the joint mission between sanemi and giyu, the two had given me their reports. it seems that there was no sighting of an upper moon. during that duration, tengen was fighting with the upper moon 6 and hence i think that it had fled away." 
that makes sense. y/n thought to herself. 

"and it seems that you have gotten really close with giyu." 
kagaya stated in a plain tone. there were no hidden motive, no malice. y/n knew that kagaya was teasing her. 

"e-eh?! giyu and i are just friends! he comes by to rest, t-that's all." 
y/n, surprised by kagaya's sudden teasing, grew red. the high ends on her cheeks had a pink hue to it. 

"interesting... first name basis." 
kagaya chuckled at the flustered girl. y/n animatedly deflated at his words and gave up. 

"how did you know of my friendship with giyu?"
y/n asked pouted a little. 

"the crows like to gossip. i just happened to overhear about it." 
y/n sighed at her overtalkative crows. they liked to fly to the ubuyashiki estate during their break times to chill there. the quintuples enjoy bonding with the crows too, finding them good company. 

"but tsuki seems to be the most enthusiastic about it. hmm... what did she say again... ah, something about you preparing extra attention to meals with giyu."
this time, y/n knew that kagaya was blatantly teasing her. his lips were curved upwards. y/n covered her face with her hands to refrain from blushing too much. 

"i forgot that tsuki has a big mouth."
