the water pillar woke up at 6 am. just at the crack of dawn to start his mission at southeast. he planned to get breakfast on the way to the village and then slay the demons lurking there.

the crow trainer woke up at 4am. just when the cool breeze would be entering the estate and the moonlight would reflect the water surface. she planned to prepare breakfast for the busy water pillar as a form of thanks.

so there she was, packing up the water pillar's bento. it was his favourite dish, simmered salmon and daikon. she wasn't sure if the pillar would accept it but she hoped so. wrapping the bento up in a maroon handkerchief. it was the only one she could find on hand and hence, she used it.

at 5.30, she had finished the bento and proceeded to feed her crows. the lethargic crows ate happily and regained their energy. they thanked y/n gratefully. y/n only smiled and hushed them since giyu was still asleep.

by then, she had already started her basic flight training with the crows. getting them to fly back and fourth accurately. she then ranked them based on speed. there were a total of a 64 crows in training and she had split them into batches of 8. y/n stood there in a (kimono of choice), observing every movement of the crows and catching onto their slight errors.

CREAK.

the door made the creaking sound and y/n clapped her hands. the crow stopped their training to get a breather.

there stands a just awaken pillar who's hair has yet to tie up. he had already freshen himself in y/n's bathroom but had yet to tie up his hair, leaving it in an unruly mess.

"good morning giyu."
y/n greeted, waving at him.

"good morning tomioka-sama!"
tsuki greeted him too. kanzaburo was still dead asleep on the tree since it had been a long time since the crow had been in the l/n estate. perched at his favourite spot, it seemed as though he would want to stay that forever.

"kanzaburo is over there."
y/n pointed at the tree and giyu nodded.

"i will be leaving soon."
y/n followed the man into her house, since the training was outdoors. giyu went to get his hair tie and was tying up his hair. y/n entered the kitchen to bring his bento.

i hope that he'll accept it
the girl thought to herself in nervousness.

"giyu, i prepared a bento for your mission. i hope that you'll accept it."
y/n held out of the bento and bowed slightly.

"thank you lady y/n... i'm very sorry to have troubled you."
y/n couldn't really understand why giyu was apologising.

"there's no need to apologise! i just had some spare time and ingredients. i hope the food is to you liking."
giyu then bowed down.

"eh...! giyu, please don't bow!"
the girl frantically exclaimed. it was an adorable interaction between the both to any outsider who were to see this. cough... the crows... cough... tsuki

"thank you lady y/n. i appreciate it."
he rephrased his words, holding onto the bento, placing it near his heart.

"southeast! southeast! children are disappearing! tomioka-sama! southeast!"
kanzaburo suddenly woke up and started reminding giyu.

"good bye lady y/n."
giyu bid, readjusting his nichirin blade.

"see you soon, giyu."
y/n hated goodbyes so she would always say, 'see you soon'. it was a form of reassurance to herself-- that she would see them soon, and that 'bye' is never forever, because they'll meet again.

"see you."
