y/n was flabbergasted by the information. the plotholes all filled up. the reason why her mother had left her at an early age. the reason why the some books in her estate were burned. the reason as to why kagaya had taken care of her. it all made sense now.

i wonder how giyu would react to this... y/n thought to herself. would he be enlightened? scared? sad? worried?

y/n didn't know how to react to her letter from her mother. part of her wished that she had given her a heads up or something before leaving her alone. like a 'hey by the way i'm leaving first'. another part of her was happy that her mother had kept it away from her.

a soft knock on the wooden door resonated in the room. y/n craned her neck towards the sound and heard giyu enter the room.

"what was the letter about?"
giyu asked, curious about the information written on the single sheet of paper. he couldn't quite decipher y/n's facial expression. she had a blend of them that he couldn't individually pick out.

"it's from my mother... you can read it."
and so he did. lightly taking the letter off her hands, giyu read every single word of it. he held in a breath.

silence bestowed on the two as giyu finished reading the letter. he then placed it on the table.

"how are you feeling?"
he asked. his priority was to make sure that y/n was alright. the man had made it his sole duty to ensure that his wife was happy.

"i don't know... i mean i'm glad that she hid it from me. i would have panicked if i knew that i was going to die when i was like 13 years old or something."
y/n cracked a small joke. giyu ran his hand down her spine. giving comforting strokes on her back as she leaned onto him.

"yeah... i think i'm glad because i can spend my moments with you. that kinda sounds sad tho."
y/n had a small smile on her face. on the brighter side, she would be able to leave this world with her husband.

gyomei had taught her to look at things from a brighter perspective. his life lessons forever etched in her mind and in times like that, it was helpful.

she's alright. they're alright.

"if you're glad, then i'm glad."
giyu stated softly. there was a thought that he seemingly couldn't leave his mind.

he didn't want their story to end just yet.

tomioka giyu wanted kids.

is it too much to ask?... the man thought to himself. he was lost in thought as he twirled a strand of h/c hair between his fingers.

"you seem lost in your thoughts. care to share?"
y/n asked. her husband had the expression that was basically saying 'i'm thinking about a lot of things and i have no idea what to do'.

should i tell her?... giyu asked to himself. he gulped before finally voicing his silent thoughts.

"what do you think about children?"

y/n blinked. does giyu want children? or is he just asking about it for fun? wait that doesn't make sense... for fun? what in the world are you thinking y/n?

"what are you trying to imply giyu?"
y/n raised an eyebrow. she wanted clarification that she was thinking what he was. giyu gulped and pinched her cheeks instead.

"you didn't answer my question."
eyebrows furrowed, y/n pinched his cheeks too. with both of her hands.

tough blow to giyu.

"i want to have children with you."
giyu stated. nervousness rose in him as he tried to hide it.

"oh so you want to carry them for nine months."
