with the bento box wrapped in a hankerchief in one hand and a small present hidden in the pockets of his demon slayer uniform, the water pillar was quite lost in his thoughts. he was halfway through the mountain to reach the l/n estate and couldn't help but wonder why was the estate located at such a mountain.

he never knew that there was a literal house residing in the mountain. no one had ventured up and for the most of it, lower ranked slayers stayed at the bottom to train.

the crows on training saw the familiar water pillar who had been to the l/n estate before. their competitive mindset in them clicked.

i'm going to tell lady l/n first!

soon many crows flocked above the water pillar and flew towards the estate to relay the information. almost in a minute, which was a new record for y/n to take note, a crow came back to relay the information.

"KAW LADY L/N! VISITOR! THE WATER PILLAR! VISITOR! VISITOR!"
the crow panted a little. y/n smiled at the crow's words. so that was what drove them to fly so fast. soon after, all the crows came back to try and relay the same information.

giyu was three quarters way up the mountain and realised that there was some sort of commotion up the mountain. the man quickened his footsteps and exactly by noon, he had reached the estate.

"giyu!"
the girl exclaimed with joy at her guest.

"lady y/n."
giyu bowed at the girl. y/n smiled and ushered him in.

"break time, please do as your heart desire."
y/n told the crows who all decided to stay at their perched areas and watch the scene unfold. the girl had poured tea for the exhausted water pillar to enjoy. sitting on the floor where the table lied. y/n's house was passed down since the Edo era hence the girl had to replace some worn out items. that included the table.

"how was your mission?"
y/n asked, starting the conversation.

"it was alright."
giyu replied, placing the bento box on the table.

"thank you for the meal. i enjoyed it."
thanking the girl, y/n smiled at him.

"i'm glad that you enjoyed it. it's been a long time since i made simmer salmon and daikon."
y/n replied, placing her hand at the scruff of her neck.

taking the bento box, y/n placed it in her sink so she could clean it up later. she sat back at her place and conversed with giyu. the water pillar took a sip of the tea and that was when y/n realised something.

his arm is hurt.

without a warning, y/n stood up from her seat and reached into one of the cabinets for her first aid basket. taking it out, she placed on the table where giyu gave her a confused look.

does he not know that his arm is hurt?
the girl questioned herself and sat closer to giyu with a determined expression on her face.

"your arm is injured."
she simply stated. grabbing out the bandages and the alcohol solution for disinfection. she then went on to get a small basin of water and cloth.

"it's not a big deal lady y/n."
giyu replied in a unbothered tone. y/n furrowed her eyebrows at him.

"it'll get worse if you don't get it treated. could you undress from you haori and roll up your sleeve?"
y/n asked, placing down the basin of water. the unemotional boy complied silently and took of his half and half haori.

rolling up his sleeve, y/n took in the numerous pale scars littered on his arms.

softly, y/n cleaned his wound with the water, dabbing it lightly on his skin.

"if it hurts, tell me alright?"
y/n said in a concerned voice. giyu only nodded and let y/n do her work.

after cleaning the wound, she inspected it. a small amount of alcohol solution on the cloth, y/n lightly pressed it on giyu's wound. the cold solution making contact on his skin. a stinging feeling lingered on it. giyu was used to pain so he didn't say anything about it. the dried blood pooled around his wound acting as a protective layer. the area was a little swollen and was in risk of getting an infection.

being extremely cautious, y/n bandaged up the wound and secured it together. she helped out with the rolling of his sleeves.

"thank you, lady y/n."
giyu rotated his arm around to ensure that it was comfortable to move in.

"it's weird."
y/n suddenly stated. giyu listened.

"you, gyomei and uzui-san all call me lady y/n despite me asking to not address me so formally."
with a pout, y/n tidied up her materials and placed it back in her cabinet.  the haori must have meant a lot to him since it has a unique design. y/n came to that conclusion and had a thought.

"can i sew your haori back?"
she asked. it was like she had casted a spell on the water pillar, making him obey to her every command. well she was a higher up of his so she had to obey her every words. but it wasn't like that, he was willing to her every action.

he enjoyed her company and time. he was grateful that she had wanted to help him. if she didn't, he would have just left the wound open and wait for it to heal naturally.

with a nod, y/n took the haori into her hands.

"thank you... y/n."
