y/n picked up the feeble, tired bird and brought him close to her chest for warmth. handling the poor bird with care. kanzaburo flew and perched himself on giyu's shoulders.

"KAW! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN LADY Y/N!"
the crow squawked enthusiastically.

"shh, not so loud kanzaburo. i've been doing great."
the girl gave a small smile at the crow who looked at her sheepishly.

"KAW, i'm sorry lady y/n."
the crow apologised and hid in giyu's hair in an attempt to shun away itself. giyu was surprised at the crow's reaction and words.

"it's alright kamzaburo, have you been a good messenger?"
y/n asked, looking at the moon that was shining with brilliance.

"yes, of course!"
the crow peeked out of giyu's head. giyu sighed at his crow's answer. y/n gave a closed eye smile to giyu upon kanzaburo's answer.

"did you just get back from a mission?"
y/n directed the question at the half and half haori man. she felt comfortable to talk to him in a friend like manner since she felt no menace or hostility from him.

"yes."
he replied monotonously.

"you can stay in my estate for a cup of tea, if you want of course."
y/n offered the water pillar who was in fact exhausted from his work.

with a curt nod, y/n was beyond excited that she had successfully invited her new friend to her estate. she regarded giyu as a friend now. she wasn't sure if the man would agree with that but let's just keep it to ourselves yeah?

"i have a cat at home. i'm informing just in case you have allergies towards it... or don't like cats."
y/n, you're rambling on. the girl berated herself on her words.

"i don't mind cats."
in fact, the silent water pillar likes cats since they radiated the same energy as him. quiet and still.

y/n had a flowery aura around her at his words. he likes cats! wait no, he said that he doesn't mind cats. isn't that the same meaning as liking them? maybe he just doesn't dislike cats. gyomei loves shiro! maybe he'll like shiro... the girl thought to herself.

"tomioka-san, how are demons like?"
y/n asked curiously. despite being apart of the demon slayer corps, holding such an important position, she has never seen a demon nor interacted with them.

"they are dangerous monsters that feasts on humans."
the water pillar replied in a bland voice.

"do they have emotions?"

"yes."

y/n didn't know that demons actually held emotions. did they feel sad when they perish in a slayer's hands? did they feel anguish when a demon close to them loses their life? did they feel fear when a slayer kills them?

the girl had so many questions unanswered.

the two wandered up the mountain where y/n's estate resided in. she enjoyed the abundance of nature. as the seasons changes, the plants changes their state.

it was currently autumn, the brown leaves all scattered on the floor. as y/n walked above them, it leaves a crunch sound. giyu on the other hand, his footsteps were silent and calculated.

"tomioka-san, how are the other hashiras like?"
y/n knew the names and crows of the other hashiras but in terms of personality, she had no idea what to expect.

the animal whisperer wanted to introduce herself to the other hashiras who put their lives on the line just to execute demons.

giyu gulped at her question. he wasn't really much of a communicator hence he didn't really have much an input on his answer.

"the... insect hashira, kocho shinobu. she likes to tease people."
giyu commented, thinking about the times where the insect pillar had told him that no one likes him. just then, giyu realised something, am i really an unlikable person?

"tease people?"
y/n questioned, cautiously stepping over a lizard that was startled by y/n.

i'm very sorry lady y/n! i'm in your way!
the lizard yelled out, moving away like light. the said girl stifled a laughter in and replied it telepathically; its alright, have a nice night.

"kocho says that i'm disliked by people."
giyu answered in a flat tone. y/n tilted her head in return. what is there to not like about tomioka-san? the girl asked internally.

"i... don't think that's true tomioka-san. i don't dislike you."
y/n stated softly. giyu was surprised by her words. his eyes widened and his steps were halted.

i am... not disliked by her..!
giyu thought to himself.

he continued tried to keep his neutral and stoic façade on but in reality, he let out a small feint smile.

y/n didn't manage to catch that smile but she could that that the water pillar was at ease.
