Chapter 55 - Forever in Your Heart (Last Chapter)

For two weeks, Yibo waited for anyone other than Zhan, his in-laws, or the boss to praise him for the arrest of Xian Chu. True, he realized that as a secret agent, he could not expect to be praised ceremoniously in public. But he had still wished for praise from someone higher up. After all, this was his first solo mission, since Zhan could not be with him in time because of the accident. Besides, Xian Chu was wanted worldwide and was even on the wanted list of Interpol! And he alone managed to arrest her!

And then, when Yibo had already given up hope, he and Zhan were called to the mayor's office. And there Yibo received not only praise from the mayor, but also an award and a very special gift. Namely, the mayor made it official that the marriage between Yibo and Zhan was legally registered and recorded in this country. And that was a million times more precious to Yibo than any praise in the world!

When the two got home, their families were already waiting for them. Yibo immediately ran to his mother and patted her big round belly. "Hey little sister, your big brother is back and he has great news. As of today, ZhanZhan and I are officially registered as a married couple in this country. Isn't that great? Don't be too excited about it though. Stay with our mom in the belly. You can congratulate me later. But now you have 7 weeks left." He said grinning with one ear pressed to her belly.

Ever since Yibo found out about his mother's pregnancy, he could hardly wait to meet his new sibling. He got even more excited when he found out he was getting a baby sister. Since then, he talked to his mother's belly every day and told his little unborn sister everything that happened to him.

As always, the belly bulged where Yibo pressed his ear to it. "Oh what's that? Your little foot or your fist?" Yibo asked with a laugh, tapping his finger against the bulge on the belly.

"She's not even born yet and she's already totally crazy about you. As soon as she hears your voice, she starts kicking and punching." Said Yibo's mother laughing.

"Because she knows how fond I am of her already." Replied Yibo giggling and kissing her belly.

"So how was that? Your marriage is now officially registered?" Yibo's mother asked. Zhan and his parents joined them.

"Yes. The mayor took it into his own hands. And even better, we could even adopt children if we wanted to."

"And do you want to adopt?" Zhan's mother asked.

"Maybe someday. But not yet." Said Zhan.

"Exactly. I've only started working as a special agent and I'm having a huge amount of fun working with my husband. Whether it's acting as a trainer at the academy in disguise or in the field like recently. We still have a lot of plans together. And no children fit into them. But later maybe, in a few years or so, we could think about it." Explained Yibo.

"That's the spirit. Go ahead and have a good romp. Enjoy your life together as a couple. And someday, when you're ready to share your love, you can think about having a child." Said Zhan's father. Yibo's father agreed with him. The two's parents have become good friends over the past few months. And Yibo's parents just recently helped the two buy a house in the family's village and even got them the furnishings for the house.

To celebrate, the families of the two held a barbecue with all the family members. Everyone had a great time at the celebration. And as Yibo lay in Zhan's arms under the starry sky that evening, he smiled thinking about how everything had started between them. Happily, he looked up at Zhan, pulled his head down to him, and kissed him. "Do you know how happy I am? Do you know how much I love you?" He asked him.

Zhan gently caressed Yibo's cheek, kissed his forehead and replied, "You are no less happy than I am. And I love you no less than you love me."

Yibo nodded. "Exactly." Smiling, he pressed Zhan's hand to his chest and played with Zhan's wedding ring. "It was love at first sight then. I saw a photo of you and fell head over heels in love with you. Sometimes I still can't believe that you and I are married now. And you know, I still love you as much today as I did then. Even a little more now."
