Megha's POV

" Chechiiiii....."

"Megha Aunnnntyyyyy....."

"Girlfriendddddd....."

I smiled wholeheartedly as the kids surrounded me. Each one demanding my undivided attention.

"Hello Megha, I was just now thinking about you "

"Anything urgent, Savita Aunty?"

"Not urgent. You spend time with the kids then we will talk"

Saying this Savita Aunty returned to her office.

"Yayy.... Now we will play"

Seeing the little one's excitement, smile bloomed on my face as I recalled the day I met them all.

Home of Sunflowers,  the big board read.

I turned to Jeet in surprise.

" It's true we lost our angel but here there are lot of Sunflowers who are craving for little bit of love. Instead of burying our feelings , won't it be better if we spread it around. On this day, I want to bring smile to your face but more than that I wanted YOU to be the reason for them to smile"

I looked in the direction he pointed and could see kids of different ages playing.

Instinctively,  I got out and moved towards them.

Don't know why but with each step my heartbeat was increasing.

Suddenly, noticing my presence , one of the kids cried out. Hearing his shout ,all their attention turned to me.

In moments I was surrounded by them being analyzed by their inquisitive gaze.

"Who are you?"

" Why are you here?"

"If you are here for donation, then office is that way"

"You are really pretty"

"What is your name?"

I was bombarded by questions all round, some curious, some sweet while some downright rude.

As I was contemplating  on how to answer  them, I felt a tug on my dupatta.

"Will you play with us? "

That round hopeful eyes broke my resolve. I engulfed that little boy in my arms. My heart bled witnessing the yearning in their eyes.

I could sense the pining of them, for love in even the rudest of the rude.

" Of course, I came to spend time with you all only. I would LOVE to play with you."

A thunderous applause sounded as they began  jumping and leaping with joy. I even saw slight smile on the bigger ones breaking their facade of mistrust.

I glanced back at Jeet who was gazing me with a proud smile which I returned with a heartfelt smile of my own.

As my attention turned to the kids in front , my smile and happiness increased tenfold seeing them so ecstatic.

As usual ,Jeet was right. This was certainly turning into the best birthday ever.

" Chechi.... Where are you lost?"
