Chapter 21

TW: DEATH.

Ciela's POV

The doctors transfered tita to a room at dun ko muna inilapag sa sofa si Cieura katabi ng kama ni tita.

She was still in her uniform as she sleep peacefully. 

I caressed her hair and cheeks. Thinking, how will she react if something bad happens to tita.

"Mahal kita, Cieura. I will protect you and tita in the most possible way I could." bulong ko bago hinalikan ang kanyang noo.

I asked Lei to get some things sa bahay namin since he insisted that he will go alone. After telling him what I saw he immediately suspected my father to be the rapist.

I think so too. Wala namang ibang pweding pagsuspektsahan kundi ang aking ama.

So sabi niya siya nalang daw kukuha ng mga gamit dahil delikado kung ako ang pupunta.

"Here." he handed me a bag full of essentials and clothes pagdating niya.

"Thank you Lei, for your help." sabi ko.

"Of course, you're my girlfriend and it is my duty as your boyfriend to help you in times when you needed someone. Hindi kita iiwan, Ciela." sabi niya bago hinalikan ang noo ko.

After hours of insisting Lei to go back home he finally agreed.

Baka nag aalala na ang kanyang pamilya kung nasaan siya kaya pilit ko siyang pina uwi.

I stayed the whole night thinking about what could happen.

I can't lose tita. Of all people, bakit siya pa?

I also couldn't stop thinking how her own brother raped her at ama ko pa.

Was he out of his mind to do so? Now I am thinking of where can we live knowing that our house is dangerous.

Kung sarili niyang kapatid nakaya niyang paglupitan, paano pa kaya kaming mga anak niya.

I battled my fist. How could he do it on his own family?! Despite him taking our money he had the audacity to do the abomination and beast he did to tita.

Tita didn't do anything but give him whatever the shit he asked and this is how we get in return?!

I sigh.

Buong gabing gising ako at binabantayan si tita. I couldn't stop thinking that, what if I fall asleep and her monitor suddenly stops?

I want to review but my mind was clouded with thoughts.

Despite my eyes getting dropy I pushed myself staying awake the whole night.

When morning came, I prepared myself and Cieura for school. 

"Is tita going to be okay?" mahinang bulong niya habang sinusubuan ko siya ng pagkain.

I nodded at her. "Of course, malakas si tita. She will be okay!" I assured her.

"Promise ate that after school, agad kang pupunta dito sa hospital okay? Wag ka didiretso sa bahay muna, Cieura okay?" nakangiting sabi ko sa kanya.

"Opo!" she cheeredly giggled while her mouth was full.

I smiled at her. Hindi naman masyadong malayo ang school nila sa hospital na 'to. Gusto ko siyang sunduin mamay kaso baka malate kami ng dismissal.

Inihatid ko muna siya bago pumunta sa school namin.

"Bye ate! Love you!" she shouted at me before blowing a kiss.

Nagkunware akong nasalo ko ang halik niya bago ngumiti. "Bye baby ko!" I waved at her.
