In the depths where memories seek,
Dark clouds hide the light we speak.
Why does this darkness not conceal,
The pain and hardship that I feel?
Drawn into an abyss of woe,
Where sorrow's weight begins to grow.
No words can paint the pain I bear,
In darkness wrapped, I cry in despair.
My tears fall upon the ground,
Eyes brimming with the tears I've found.
Yearning for joy, met with strife,
Punishment outweighs my life.
Chilled by water's icy touch,
My bones tremble, my heart does clutch.
Melting like wax in the fire of pain,
Eyes closed tight, tears fall like rain.
Lead me to the sunless land,
To Sheol's realm, where memories bland.
There, let me forget and rest,
Erase the days of futile quest.
In Sheol's realm of silent lore,
Among the dead, forevermore.
Take me there to find release,
From burdens that my heart must cease.
