In the tapestry of life, a tale unfolds,
Of a heart in turmoil, its story told.
Unwilling to bind in a union of hearts,
Where power and wealth play no vital parts.

On Freedom Day's joy, a bitter twist of fate,
As love's path diverges from its intended state.
A heart in anguish, burdened with despair,
A soul so tender, cloaked in sorrow's snare.

A mother's vision of love's pure embrace,
Of two hearts entwined in a lifelong race.
Yet destiny's hand dealt a different card,
Binding a soul to one it finds so hard.

Promises made, forced by circumstance,
To love and cherish, in joy and in trance.
Yet signed agreements, if against the soul's will,
Cannot alter the depths of what lies still.

How can one find joy in each passing day,
When the hand to hold is not love's true way?
How can laughter ring in deeds under the sun,
When the heart's true love is yet to be won?
