I yearn to break free from the confines of this locked cage,
To escape the murky waters of the tainted lake's rage,
Thus, I etched on paper with ink, words to liberate the soul's stage.

Is it a sin to defy oppressive reign?
To resist a government causing our nation pain,
Though on our own soil, we suffer in disdain,
Made slaves in our own land, a sorrowful chain.

The temple meant to soothe, now a source of tears,
Yet, my commitment to you remains, despite my fears.
Love became my shield in these trying years,
Unaware it would fracture our united spheres.

I know my actions brought hardship and woe,
But now, I seek to imbue this heart with courage to show,
Soon, I'll stand by your side, ready to bestow.

Tonight, we'll rendezvous at our sacred place,
Granting your heart's desires, with grace,
I'll take your hand, and we'll embrace,
Leaving this world behind, in a shared race.
