Four people were in a motel room one of them was wounded and tied up in a chair. An Angel and a hunter named Dean whispered about the incident while Sam was slowly waking up from the beating. A huntress was standing in the middle of the room, behind Castiel's back. Watching him diagnosing a bloodied-up hunter.
She had no words but all of her expressions turned into rage. All she desperately wanted to have was Sam Winchester she knew back. It was not Sam Winchester she knew in a chair, it was a shadow to her. Nothing but a shadow. A shadow that she wanted to kick to the skull. A shadow that she wanted to disappear from her view. A shadow of that reflection that she loathed herself.
"Cas?" asked Sam. He opened his eyes, seeing everyone in his view. His wrists were tied together behind his back on a chair. He noticed the eyes that were glaring into his view while she was standing in a dark place brutally torturing him from her mind. Castiel pulled his eyelid above to peek through the eyes, then he groaned. "Let me go."
"Has he been feverish?"
"Have you?" asked Dean.
Castiel backed away while he looked at everyone, "No. Why?"
Castiel looked at Dean as he asked, "Is he speaking in tongues?" He returned his gaze to Sam and repeated the question, "Are you speaking in tongues?"
"No. What are you--?" Sam was confused by the approach until he realized it. "Are you diagnosing me?"
"Answer the damn question," Karina said with a powerful, raging voice.
He scoffed when he looked at her. Castiel put his fingers against his pulse, "You really this is--?"
"Don't you snap back at me, you lying dick! Or better yet, how about you meet up with Patrick Bateman on Facebook? Now, you answer any of the questions or I'll give you another round until you shut up. With my teeth."
Sam and Karina stared at each other, but their gazing wasn't the same. The fires from their hearts and the sparkles from their eyes were fading while Dean noticed it from her back. He knew that he wanted his brother back as much as she did. Not much she realized by how much she was willing to take chances all because of him. All because... she couldn't say the words.
Castiel asked, "How much do you sleep?"
"I don't."
Dean was more shocked to hear this especially when he was sleeping in the same room with him. "At all?"
"Not since I got back."
Castiel and Karina exchanged glances with Dean while he was building up the voice. He walked up and raised his voice to him, "And it never occurred to you that might be something off about that?"
"Of course, it did, Dean. I-I just never told you."
How did he act dark when he couldn't sleep? Humanityless would give you a chance to sleep but what was different? Karina knew deep down that it was familiar to her. A terrifying synonym that latched to her mind. She noticed that Castiel gave a concerned glance toward then she began to question, "What is it?"
"Sam, what are you feeling now?"
Sam chuckled a little with a sarcastic tone, "Well, I feel like my nose is broken."
"No, that's a physical sensation. How do you feel?"
"I think--"
"Feel."
"I don't know."
Sam's eyebrows furrowed at the Angel then Castiel looked at Dean and Karina. He began pulling his belt from his pants as he questioned his actions. "It will be unpleasant. Bite down on this.'
