One of the worst calls that anyone would like to receive... was that your loved one was in hospital from a car accident. Not only that... the hospital was also a mental institution. Dean and Karina were waiting in their seats in the lobby, impatiently. They were repeatedly ordered by a nurse that they all needed to be scheduled to meet with the doctor. After minutes, they refused her pleading as they rushed to the office.
Dean and Karina entered the office, meeting the doctor who was writing his papers on his desk. "Okay? You can't just barge in here without an appointment!"
Dean recited, "They said, "Talk to Kadinsky." You Kadinsky?"
"You both need to be scheduled!"
Dean turned to the nurse and yelled at her, "Well, then, schedule us!!" He turned to the doctor as he continually raised his voice, "He was in a car crash!! Why can't we see him??"
The doctor removed his glasses as he recalled, "You're Sam Smith's brother, and you must be his partner."
"Yeah, what's going on?"
The doctor calmly told the nurse to leave, then she left. He rose up from his chair, keeping an eye-level with Dean and Karina. "Sam was admitted. He was treated for a broken rib and lacerations."
"Okay. That's not too bad. And?"
"And... he's on our locked psychiatric floor."
There it was... A shattering news for Dean and Karina. They looked at each other, seeing the reflections of terror eyes. She looked down as she inhaled deeply while the tears were forming in her eyes. He scoffed lightly as he heard her footsteps paced away from his side, "I mean, he's had some trouble..."
"So you're aware that Sam is experiencing a full-blown psychotic episode?"
"Psychotic? Come on. I mean, the guy's... it's not like the guy's freakin' Norman Bates."
"No, I'm sure he isn't. We need to determine whether his state was brought on by the insomnia or whether the insomnia is a symptom of his condition. Do you understand? So that we can figure out how to treat him."
"Well, all I can say is that the sleep thing is kind of new."
He breathed in deeply, "Right... Well... we've pumped him about as full of sedatives as safely we can. So far, he won't go under. I've never seen anything like it."
Dean looked around his back, seeing Karina crying softly at the window pane. He lowered his eyes as he asked softly, "Is there any way we can see him?"
"Yes..." Dean began to move, but the doctor inferred one more thing. "But we're allowed to have one person in the visitation."
"Come on, we're both family to him. Sam's gonna want-"
"Dr. Kadinsky, will you excuse us for a moment? We will be there with you shortly." Both of the men turned to a cracked, female voice in a room. Revealing Karina with crossed arms with stained tears on her cheeks, then the doctor understood by a nod. He left the room to have the family discuss in privacy. The huntress shakily exhaled as she approached her best friend, "You should see him."
"Kay..."
"Dumbass, I'm not an idiot. I know what he's seeing with Lucifer. I know I'm the problem in his situation. I saw how he looked at me, and how he wouldn't be able to touch me. I'm frustrated by the fact that he wouldn't open up to me in the first place, which was understandable. Considering that I'm his worst nightmare." Dean wanted to share the secret that his brother kept her from, but she already knew from her examination. It would do no good if he spilled it at this moment, then she chuckled sadly. Sobbing lightly, "I knew it was going to happen. I knew it."
