In the brightful dawn in the trees of the wood, the sneakers were running faster on the ground. Running aside the trunks of the tall trees, his breathing was faster when his body was covered with liquid of sweat. The hazel eyes cautiously spotted a clear area surrounded by the nature beings; the pupils scanned each opening. Turning his neck as he relaxed his lungs, leaning against his knees.

Sam groaned lightly as he shut his eyes, then he heard the distant twig. His head snapped to the sound, his heart was racing with nerves and fear. His mind calculating from each sight he saw. Lowering from his upper body, his hands gripped lightly to prepare what was coming next.

From his back, there were eyes predatoring from the bushes. The eyes raised up as the sunlight shadowed a woman with a ponytail in black sport bra and tights with fingerless gloves. Her sneakers began running toward him. Then without warning, he gripped his right hand to take a swing. She ducked away, then she punched him in the ribs.

Kicking him on the back, causing him to bend down. His fist laid upon her chin, stumbling back. A left grip came across to her face, then she caught it in one hand. Twisting it so the left arm rested on his lower back, having her feet climbed up. He was on his knees, then she climbed up on top of him to have her leg wrapped around his neck. He was choking up as his face was turning red. "Tap out before I kill you. Sam, tap out." Stubborn enough not to, then she increased the pressure around the neck. Gasping loudly, then he heard his name again. His hand was tapping on her knee, then she released him. He resumed breathing on the ground while Karina was standing behind him with arms crossed, her eyes softened to see him being weak.

Weaker than before.

"Karina, we had this for days. Don't you think it's time to stop?"

"I'm sorry, is suicide your personality? You never know that one day that Lucifer's enemy will come attack you and you're not strong enough for your abilities." Groaning as he slowly stood up as he wiped his sweat away with his sleeve before rolling it up to his forearm. "Care to remind you that you've been in Hell for almost 100 years from him beating you up to the cracks."

Sam looked down on her and responded sarcastically. "Can't you blame me?"

"Sam, we're the same age, and I just judo-necked you on the ground-up." Sam nodded in understanding, then he tried to challenge her. Without them blinking, he raised his elbow toward her, then she pushed it away. Placed a palm against his nose, he groaned loudly. He covered his nose as he was easing the unbearable pain, it was a good thing that she didn't break his nose.

Sam waved his hand at her, wanting her to stop. "Okay, okay. Fair point." He opened his eyes after stretching his face. His eyes distanced from afar, his body shook with terror. Against the tree trunk, he saw Lucifer behind her back. Swallowing his throat as he was kicking him down with his words. The insult words about the Huntress in front of him.

Karina noticed he was distracted by Lucifer again, then she lowered her eyes down. Inches away to rub his scar, then she placed her hand on his hand. From her touch, his eyes peered down at her. Her words were soft and clear. "You don't always have to use your mind to fight back the satisfaction of him. Do you know what's stronger?" Her hand touched his chest upon his V-neck shirt, then she introduced a new weapon for him. His heart, "Here. That's what makes it stronger. Listening to our hearts is what matters more than the scars resting upon us.'

Sam listened to her closely to her words, staring at her brown eyes. Her eyes reflected from the warming sunlight. He couldn't hear Lucifer's yelling at him, but he could hear her heart beating simultaneously to his. They were in rhythm motion as they were standing together in place of reality. "Now... Can you see him?"
