Ch. 3 ~Zenix and Garroth's "Thank you"~

~ Lorena's POV ~

I woke up to the sound of a goat making an incredibly loud and annoying noise. I went outside to see where it was and noticed not 1 but 3 goats. They're very loud but they could also be useful to keep for milk. I walk along the path that I redid adding some stairs to make the steps small so villagers don't have to make big steps going up the path. As I was walking around the village I noticed Garroth on top of what seems like a small guard tower. I head inside and clime the ladder that leads upstairs to the roof of the tower.

"Hi Garroth."

Garroth: "Hello Lorena, you've talked to Zenix I suppose?"

"No I haven't."

Garroth: "Go talk to him please."

"Okay"

I head down the ladder and outside the guard tower and begin to search for Zenix.

'I wonder what Zenix needs to talk to me about.'

I don't take long looking for him as he's standing next to me and Emmalyn's home.

"Hi Zenix"

Zenix: "Madam!"

"M-me?"

Zenix: "Yes you! I need to have a word with you!"

"Okay..."

Zenix: "You've just arrived in town haven't you? Garroth and I have seen you around, and we've taken notice of your hard work here - even though you've just arrived... have done a great service for our town.

Thank you."

"No problem!"

Zenix: "In any case, I just wanted to warn you that if you keep doing things like this you might be seen as a "Lord" to this village and that title these days...

...may have some consequences"

"What do you mean?"

Zenix: "Nevermind.

Just know that if you keep helping villages the world will start moving in ways it normally should not and that isn't always a good thing.

I take my leave now. I've already said too much."

With that he walks away.

'What was that about?'

I decide not to think about it and make my way to the wheat farm. I harvest some wheat and plant the seeds that come out from it. I gather all the wheat I've harvested and go find the goats from earlier. I spot them and slowly get close to them as I get some wheat in my hand and watch them slowly walk up to me. I start feeding them gaining their trust. I pet them and and they get closer to my palm.

"I'm gonna name you Billy." Even thought it's a girl.

"And you will be Yawn." I say to the other goat. I am very bad at names but I know I'll remember them.

I let the goats walk around and make my way back to the house that is behind me and Emmalyn's home because I saw 2 chickens there one time when I was walking around the village. I go into the house and make my way to the little outdoor area outside that is fenced so the chickens won't escape. I remember I have some left over seeds in my inventory so I grab them and feed it to the chickens hoping they'll have a baby chicken. And I was correct as I see a baby chicken come out of the mama chicken. I leave them be and make my way back home. I see Emmalyn there reading a book. I decide to talk to her in hope of getting her to like me and not hate me anymore.

"Hey Emmalyn, how was your day?"

Emmalyn: "Go bother someone else with your conversations."

Yea I don't think she's ever gonna like me... Anyways, I decide to use the leftover wheat I have and begin to make and bake some bread for whenever I get hungry. It took me a little while to finish but the bread came out warm and fluffy. I leave a loaf of bread out for Emmalyn. She might not like me but I still care about her well being. I care about everyone's well being. Then I remember about Garroth and how he wanted to talk to me after I talk to Zenix so I make my way back to the guard tower. I see Garroth still there patrolling the village.

"Hi Garroth I'm back."

Garroth: "You've talked to Zenix I suppose?"

"Yeah..."

Garroth: "I see... he told you about the world "moving"."

"What does that mean?"

Garroth: "I'm not supposed to break any walls here but... I want things to start changing again.

The more you do for villages, things in the world will start to change. Events might happen around the things you build, although it might take some time... people in the world will become more "aware" - and that doesn't always attract positive attention."

"Tell me more!"

Garroth: "I cannot.

If you want answers... go to the previous "Lord's" home. It is located in the forest clearing North East of here... for now that is all I'm allowed to say."

"Okay, goodnight Garroth."

He goes his head and returns to patrolling the village. I head back down the guard tower and make my way back home. It's dark so it's time for me to get to bed. I'll go to the previous Lord's home tomorrow.

'I wonder what answers I will find there.'
