Lorena's POV:

I wake up to a vibrating sensation in my pocket. I take out the Pendant to see it's glowing purple.

'Oh crap! I forgot about Garroth!'

I gently tap on the Pendant and I hear Garroth's voice coming through the purple Pendant.

Garroth: "Lorena! Thank goodness you're okay! I was trying to contact you for so long but our communication link with shut off... did something happen?"

I then tell him about the O'Khasis Guards here in Pikoro Village.

Garroth: "W-What!? Have they tried to detain you!? Did they recognize you!?"

"Surprisingly no..."

Garroth: "Hm, interesting... well, I can't justify coming over there if you are not an immediate danger... I'm sure if we show up with you we'd be noticed for sure and bring in more attention than wanted. But... listen Lord Lorena, if something happens to you... break the communication necklace. Once you do, it will also break this one on our end - this will let us know that you are in need of our help. We'll be over immediately. Now... see if you can find Lord Burt without being noticed. Stay safe my Lord."

I thank him and then the Pendant stops glowing purple. I get up and stretch my body. For being forced to stay in this room I actually slept well. I decide to go downstairs to talk to the Inn Keep and see if he knows anything about Lord Burt. He seemed to not have like the O'Khasis Guards. I lock the door behind me and out my key in my pocket. I walk downstairs and I see the Inn Keep in the same spot. He looks at me and smiles as he hands me a bag.

Inn Keep: "Hello there young lady. I want to give you a refund. Here."

I carefully take the bag and open it to see my 20 diamonds. I look at it shocked and then confused at the Inn Keep.

"Why?"

Inn Keep: "... Ugh, the Guards of O'Khasis are FORCING people to stay at my hotel. I don't want people to come to my place for that... I want people to come because they have nowhere else to stay and on their own time - not a forced time. I just can't imagine your stay was a pleasant one seen as you were forced to do it. Plus, how do I know that you don't need this money for food? Heck, I'm not that kind of guy."

"That's very kind of you, Sir..."

Inn Keep: "Heh, well... it's what a good person does, eh? I hope for what it was worth your stay was comfortable."

"It was!"

Inn Keep: "Glad to hear. Anyway, a few things you should know before you step outside. One, tensions are HIGH in our village. Our Lord has gone to Bright Port to discuss a matter of peace with the Lord there, and hasn't been back for quite a few days... meaning that the Guards of O'Khasis have been free to do as they please."

"The Lord has been gone you say...?"

Inn Keep: "Yes. Normally the head Guard of Pikoro Village would have some say in what happens, but since there are SO MANY O'Khasis Guards here they have pretty much threatened our people AND Guards into submission... things are grim it seems."

"Your head Guard is here...?"

Inn Keep: "Mmhm, he is. One of the Jury of Nine escorted our Lord to Bright Port for negotiations, so... common practice says that a head Guard submits their position to a member of the Jury of Nine or something like that... I don't know, I don't understand all that Guard nonsense. It's a stupid practice if you ask me."
