Lorena's POV:

I woke up and prepared myself to go and search for the Chicken Shaman. I decide to tell Laurence that I'm on my way to go look for him and to thank him for welcoming to his village. He looks up at me and smiles as he walks up to me.

Laurence: Lady Lorena! Your beauty is as stunning as ever... alas now isn't the time to talk about our undying attraction to each other."

I giggle at him.

"Please, calm down."

Laurence: "My apologies. I'm not one to wait for love to find me. In any case, I've received a report from Hayden that his daughter has gone missing."

"What happened?"

Laurence: "He reports that his daughter went missing just the day before you arrived. The guards didn't take it seriously because she often goes off looking for roses and camps out overnight but she didn't return in the morning. I understand that you are busy with your own hunt for the Shaman, but I need to stay here to keep tensions between Hayden and Kenmur in check."

"Are they mad at each other?"

Laurence: "Hayden's daughter... Kenmur loves her and Hayden knows this. He's blaming Kenmur for her being gone. Says Kenmur made her run away so he could win the position of Lord while Hayden is emotionally distraught over her missing. I have no idea what logic he has behind this but he has a point. I ask you again, my love.

Will you help me?"

I blush at his nickname for me.

"Sure, but please don't call me "your love" again..."

Laurence: "Great! I knew I could count on you, your mind is as beautiful as your eyes. Now, you should start by talking to both Hayden and Kenmur. They won't speak to their respective guards because... well association.

I'm sure they'll speak to you."

I nod my head and make my way over to Hayden's house. I walk in and Hayden sees me.

Hayden: "Gods forfend! Ugh, I'm sorry... I thought you were my daughter. I'm missing her so much."

"I'm here to help, what can you tell me about her?"

Hayden: "You? What credentials do you have?"

"I'm a Lord myself."

I decided to take on the role of Lord of Phoenix Drop before setting out for Scaleswind. Phoenix Drop needs a Lord and the people seem to look up to me so I didn't want to disappoint them and I became their Lord.

Hayden: "... I see. Then you would care about any citizen as I do. Very well. Her name is Cadenza, she's my beloved adoptive daughter. When she was a little girl I found her in a flower field picking roses. Her... her parents were in the village next to it. The village was set aflame and she was... crying. Picking roses and telling me they were for her parents grave. She was so little and now this... she's such a wonderful girl, so frail and sensitive. I'm just blaming myself for not sending a guard with her. I know Kenmur is behind this."

"My goodness... she has a dark past..."

Hayden: "She does, and I make sure every day of her life is one to cherish. Please... find my baby girl."

I nod and head over to his guard to see if she has any information on Cadenza.

Hayden's Guard: "Cadenza is like a daughter to me... please, help find her."

I walk out of Hayden's house and make my way to Kenmur's. I walk in and see Kenmur staring out the window.

Kenmur: "..."

"Kenmur? I'm looking for Cadenza."

Kenmur: "...!? You... you're looking for her? Under who's authority?"

"Laurence and Hayden's"

Kenmur: "I see. Hayden couldn't come face me like a man, huh? So much for him being the elder. I swear he's always onto me about being a young kid and he doesn't think I have what it takes to lead a village. Very well. Cadenza is the object of my affections, I love her so... but I have never told her my feelings and now I'm regretting it every second. I did not take Cadenza nor am I coordinating any plot with her against her father. I love those she loves. She's a wonderful person, so kind, and gentle. She deserves much better than this."

I nod my head and walk over to his guard hoping he has more information.

Kenmur's Guard: "Kenmur is so distraught, I would be too. To lose a young love like that... I've been there."

I give him a sad smile and walk out.

"The only lead I have on Cadenza is that she likes to pick roses in the outskirts of town. So I guess I need to look outside of town."

I start walking out of town and look for Cadenza.

"Cadenza! Cadenza are you out here! Your father is looking for you!"

I walk around yelling out her name when suddenly I come across...

"A red chicken? And it's surrounded by roses... Hey red chicken, have you seen Cadenza...?"

I mentally facepalm myself thinking how stupid I must look asking for a chicken to help but then it starts to flap around frantically repeating the same noises.

Red Chicken: "Bawk! Bawwwwk! Bgagck!"

The red chicken keeps flapping its wings.

'This chicken looks like it's trying to tell me something but I don't understand what it's saying... Wait... Kiki! She might know!'

I tel the Red Chicken that I'll be back and I quickly rush to the docks and jump on my ship to go back to Phoenix Drop. After a few minutes I arrive and run around the village looking for Kiki. I find her in the Plaza and run towards her.

"Kiki!"

Kiki turns around and looks at me with wide eyes.

Kiki: "Lorena! Back so soon...? Did you find Levin's mother?"

"No Kiki, I am back on a different matter. I need a chicken translation."

Kiki: "A translation? Well, I mean... I can understand come animal languages. Lay it on me."

"What does "Bawk! Bawwwwk! Bgagck!" mean?"

Kiki: "Hm, I'm rusty but... it sounds like "I'm cursed! Please help me!"

... Is everything okay Lorena?"

"Yes, I need to go now. Someone needs my help!"

Kiki: "All right, just so you know Levin is perfectly safe. Please go help whoever needs it. I'll make sure to keep you informed on the events here in town."

I thank her for the information on Levin and make my way back to Meteli. As I arrive I run over to where the Red Chicken is.

"Red Chicken! I can understand what you're saying and I know what I need to do with you— * WHACK *"
