Lorena's POV:

I climb down the ladder to the jail building and see Garrett there outing in his guard armor. He looks at me and a concerned face washes over me as he sees me out of breath and pale.

Barrett: "What did you find?"

I proceed to tell him about what I found under the Baker's shop.

Barrett: "... My goodness, pictures...? This sounds like... a Shadow Knight for the King in training... I'll make a swift arrest. Lorena, thank you so much. The Baker will not see the light of day for a very long time."

I nod my head and he makes his way up the ladder and out of the building. I head over to the receptionist to say my goodbyes.

Receptionist: "Thank you for the help with the case. I ordered you something for your dogs as a reward. Funny, looking at your dogs reminds me of my sister... I wonder what she's up to these days. She really love animals."

She points over to the chest with a sign above it.

For Lorena

I open it to find 2 stacks of raw chicken.

'Now I won't have to worry about my dogs being hungry!'

I thank her and make my way up the ladder and out of the building. I feed my dogs and tell them to follow me as we continue our journey South. We passed through Strawberry Village and just as we were about to exit the Vanilla Village I see Raven holding a letter in his mouth. I take it out of his mouth and read it.

From Garroth:
Lady Lorena, an update from your village guard, Phoenix Drop. Levin is doing very well. Zoey has been making sure he eats his vegetable mush as needed and he has been very healthy. He's starting to talk and show interest in walking. I think he might be ready to grow up soon, but not anytime too soon. Dale has been getting drunk only once a week which is progression in my opinion. Logan and Donna got engaged! Meanwhile Brenden has been making googly eyes at Sasha and Sasha well... she's been busy with her potion making. Kiki has been taking care of animals and I think you will be surprised at the new animals she got. All is well here, try not to worry about us, I've got everything under control.

I thank Raven for the letter and he nods his head as he flys away. I feel happy knowing everyone is doing well. Especially, baby Levin.

'I can't wait to go back home to see him...'

I continue my journey South and my dogs happily follow me. After walking for and hour I see a mountain straight ahead of me with a pink building that has a red heart with eyes.

'That looks so cute! I wanna go see what that is!'

I make my way over to it and I see a bunch of cows in the area. I decide to kill them to collect leather to make a backpack because my inventory is full. After collecting about 9 leather I decide that enough and make my way over to the pink building. When I open the doors I'm greeted by a bunch of tiny little people dressed in maid dresses. There's tables everywhere with cakes and pancakes. There a little stage where three little maid people are dancing and a then there's a taller person. I walk up to that person to see that she's half cat half human.

'A Meifwa...?'

???: "Oooh~Hello there! My name is Miss Kawaii, but you can call me Kawaii-Chan! How many I be of assistance to you today?"

"Uh... where the heck am I?"

Kawaii-Chan: "Tee~hee, silly! You are in my Maid Café. You see, I am a witch, well not a very good one... the only thing I'm good at doing is making dolls come to life. Mostly human-like dolls. You see I make dolls and I dress them up as maids and I can bring them to life! So I "maid" (hehe!) a Maid Café so people could come from all across the lane and enjoy them!"

"That's cool! What do these maids do?"

Kawaii-Chan: "Hm? Well, why don't you find out for yourself! You can take one with you, however I need something in return. Promise me you'll come back and visit and tell me how she does out there in the world. I like to keep status reports on my dolls since they're fairly new and I'm still getting used to the magic. Oh and also tell people of this place, we just opened and really you are the first customer! So... please take one and promote the "SUPER KAWAII DOLL MAID CAFÉ!"

Promise?"

"Promise!"

Kawaii-Chan: "Horray!~ You can take what you need in the chest but please only take one doll. I can't bare to part with more than one now. Please make yourself at home and have a super fun time day! Caio!~"

"One more question... how far am I from reaching the town of Scaleswind? I feel like I've been traveling forever."

Kawaii-Chan: "Scaleswind? Hmm~ You're very far from it, just keep going South, if I were you I would try to establish a place to sleep for the night. I would let you stay here but I can't, I'm sorry. Take care! Caio!~"

I thank her and head outside. It's already night so I decide to just sleep on the ground. My dogs all surround me to keep me safe and warm and we fall asleep.

A few hours later

I woke up to the smell of pancakes. I get up and stretch and yawn. I go inside the Maid Café to see Kawaii-Chan setting out pancakes probable for customers to come. She bids me goodmorning and tells me the chest with the maid and maid stuff are on the left corner of the building. I walk up to it and see a sign next to it.

If the maiden allows, please take your maid!

I look inside to see many maid dolls, sugar, cakes and Lassos. I take one maid, a stack of sugar, one cake and 5 Lassos. In total I have 6 Lassos with the one I already had. I take the maid doll to Kawaii-Chan and she places it on the floor as she closes her eyes and a pink light forms around her hands and the maid doll. I close my eyes at the brightness and when I open them I see a cute little maid with a pink ponytail. Kawaii-Chan instructs me to feed her a cake and she will follow me. So I give her the cake and wherever I go she follows me.

'My own little maid! She's so cute! I can't wait to take her to Scaleswind with me..."
