Lorena's POV:

I see him run off and the color of my face drains. I start shaking.

"Levin it's not safe here, we have to go home."

I carefully pick him up and start walking wobbly back home. I see Brian running towards me.

Brian: "Lorena! What's wrong!? I heard you yelling, are you okay!?"

"... I saw Laurence... Levin walked to him..."

Brian: "Calm down tell me what happened!"

"Laurence... we have to go after Laurence! He was here! He was right here!"

Brian: "Lorena, you're shaking! Calm down!"

I can't control my shaking as I gently put Levin down  so I don't accidentally drop him. I look up and see Garroth running towards us.

Garroth: "Dale came and got me, what's going on!?"

"Laurence! I saw him, Levin walked to him!"

Garroth: "Lorena, Levin doesn't walk... wait, something is wrong with Levin..."

I look to Levin and see him staring out ahead with a plain face and he won't talk.

"Levin? Are you okay?"

A few minutes later

We're back home in Levin's room with Garroth, Zoey and the Doctor from Bright Port. After examining Levin he stands up.

"Doctor? Is Levin okay?"

Doctor: "Well... Levin is going to be okay, but..."

"... But?"

Doctor: "He isn't old enough to walk yet, that's a given fact. He will when he gets older but I think he was enchanted, levitated, some... as my crazy cat-enthusiast sister would say, magic "juju" was involved..."

"Is he hurt!?"

Doctor: "What? Oh no, no, no, no, nonono! The only thing that was hurt was his toosh when he fell down after the juju-enchanted magic. He's in solid health for a boy his age!"

"So everything is okay?"

Doctor: "Yes, but you shouldn't take him out for a while. Maybe just make a back yard for playing in... you know, something that will keep out that bad juju magic, and by that I mean, the wizard who used it. Heh! Sorry, I don't know anything about that magic stuff. I'm going to be heading out, just give him some cuddles and a nice nap and he'll be okay. Take care!"

I nod and thank him as he heads out. I see Garroth follow after him. I crouch down to Levin and tickle his cheek.

"How are you my baby?"

Levin: "Guuuuuuuuu!~"

He proceeds to giggle as I sigh in relief. I stand up and see Zoey with a sad smile.

Zoey: "... I was right behind Garroth when Dale came and told us he and Brian heard you yelling."

"I'm sorry I scared you."

Zoey: "Lorena... I had a baby once... he was taken from me."

My face saddens as I see Zoey vulnerable and tell me about her baby.

"Zoey... I'm so sorry..."

Zoey: "It's okay, my husband was a part of the Elven Council. Only elves who are on the council are allowed to know magic, but... I had a gift and I foolishly let my own thirst for knowledge of it dictate my life and... it wasn't fair. We're naturally atuned with nature and... ugh, anyway... I was banished from our home in the woods for years, and it wasn't a situation where I could easily go back or my husband could follow me, our magick aura was out under a barrier and... * sigh * I'm not going to explain how that magick works, but... I e couldn't be close together. Ever."
