Lorena's POV:

We spent all of yesterday looking for Nicole after I gave that speech to the village but unfortunately we had no luck. I spent the morning talking with Laurence on where else in the village we could look when suddenly we heard an explosion upstairs. The color of my face drained and we quickly ran upstairs towards the children's room. We barge in and there I see Lucinda, Zoey, Levin and a little boy with brown hair, greens eyes and torn clothes that looks like.

"M-Malachi...?"

I run up to him and I gently touch him being able to feel his body. I engulf him into a big hug as he tenses.

Malachi: "W-W-What's happening!?"

Lucinda: "This is... this is IMPOSSIBLE! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!?"

Laurence: "So... he's a human? He's alive!?"

Zoey: "... I can't believe this."

Lucinda: "ZOEY! How could this have possibly happened!?"

Zoey: "... The only thing I can think of is that... you see, when a Fairy or an Elf dies in the Yggdrasil Forest the trees feed off their remains... the tree that the sapling Malachi used... it must have absorbed someone and taken their life force..."

Laurence: "Wait... trees EAT people there!?"

Zoey: ""Only if you die in the Forest will nature then run its course... your flesh and bones will return to the earth." It's something the High Council would say... though I've never seen anyone die in the Forest myself."

Lucinda: "That's... very poetic... NONETHELESS! MALACHI! HE'S HUMAN AGAIN! That means that... I want to understand this... DO YOU REALIZE THE POTENTIAL BEHIND THIS!? WE COULD POTENTIALLY CURSE SOULS AND THEN BRING THEM BACK TO LIFE GIVING HUMANS IMMORTALITY!"

Zoey: "Lucinda, please do not delve into such matters... there's a reason the Forest of Yggdrasil is sacred."

Lucinda: "... I... I'm sorry, I just got excited when I thought of the potential lives we could save..."

Zoey: "Lucinda I think we need to talk. Let's leave Malachi to rest. Lorena, Levin... we'll give you three some time alone."

"Okay, yeah... I want to talk to Malachi..."

They all nod their heads as they step out. I look down at Malachi as he's touching his fingers.

"Malachi...? Are you okay?"

Malachi: "I-I'm fine... but... it's been so long since I remember being able to feel things... to touch my own fingers... THIS IS ALL TOO WEIRD!"

He then starts tearing up as I hug him again and he hugs me back.

"Malachi... Levin and I are here to help you through this..."

Malachi: "Thanks Mom but... is it right...? Is this right that I'm given a second chance at life...? This is too good to be true... there must be something wrong..."

"Malachi, enjoy it for what it is."

Malachi: "... You're right but... I think... I'm just scared..."

"I'll be here for you..."

Malachi: "I love you Mommy... I just... I want to lay down... maybe this is all a dream I'm supposed to wake up from... a cruel dream... I just want to sleep..."

"I understand..."

I then place a gentle kiss on his cheek which makes him smile and then he lays down. I walk over to Levin who's looking at Malachi with a smile.
