Lorelei's POV:

Nik, Elijah, Kol and I all sit down for dinner. At this moment I'm kind of glad that Rebekah is lying daggerd in a coffin. I don't think I could handle both her and Kol tonight.

I sit across from Kol with Nik and Elijah towards the heads of the table. It's tense but everyone is behaving at least, until Kol opens his big mouth.

"Seems to me like your maid should've done a better job brother." Kol remarks
"I'm not a maid." I growl
"To be debated."

Elijah shoots his brother a look but Nik doesn't react in any way.

I let out an audible wolf growl and Kol rolls his eyes.

He and Rebekah aren't the biggest fans of me. Nik made it clear that I was serving a debt and threatened to dagger them should they interfere.

Nik gives me a warning glare. I look away and focus back on my food.

I shouldn't let Kol get to me. He's just an asshole. He wants to get under my skin.

"I'm surprised she isn't kneeling at your feet." Kol remarks
"Mind your business Kol." Elijah warns

Elijah's warning comes seconds too late as I chuck a steak knife at Kol's head and he catches it by the handle, the tip of the blade a mere few inches from landing between his eyes.

He stares at the knife then at me.

I smirk.

His eyes change showing is vampire side and his fangs have extended and he lets out a hiss.

I growl, eyes turning gold.

"Lorelei!" Nik snaps

His voice cuts through me like ice and my eyes immediately move from Kol's to his.

Nik watches me like a hawk as Kol and I sit back down. Then seeing as I've backed down he turns his attention to his brother.

I glare at Kol.

"Kol I would strongly advise you to watch the way you speak of her or would you like to join our dear sister?" Nik says voice low with the implied threat

Kol holds his hands up in surrender.

"Apologize brother." Kol says

Nik turns his attention back on me. I don't look up but I can feel his gaze on me. I finish my meal then head to my bedroom without another word. Although I didn't look at him, I could tell Nik was watching the whole time.
