I found a better place to sleep around here. Down a bit off the mountain is a meadow with a small stream. Quite a bit of deer and some rabbits to hunt. I need to find shelter before the next rain storm. Last week I stayed in an old fox den. They'd been gone so long you couldn't catch even the slightest scent. Mama fox had pups and moved on most likely.

I'm glad winter is over and spring is here. I wanted to move further south but I've heard talk of hunters in the area so for now I'll steer clear and stay up north, sticking to the State parks and National Forrests where it is prohibited to hunt.

I love being on my own but I want to go back to Tray Mountain and say goodbye.
