Lorelei's POV:
I'm sitting on the balcony as Nik walks in.
The morning started the same way it always did, a list of things I needed to do for him. I rushed to get the dishes done after I'd fallen asleep accidentally on the balcony earlier.
"I thought I'd find you here."
I love sitting out on the balcony and feeling the cool summer air on my skin.
"I get that you want me to be nice to your family but Kol is obnoxious." I say as I continue staring out into the bright blue sky
"You participated in that too love."
I whip around to face him.
"Let's not forget that less than a week ago your sister tried to kill me Nik." I say harshly
He raises his eyebrows but his posture doesn't change. I immediately regret speaking.
"And she is paying for it." He states
I sigh and stand up. I move past Nik and put my hair up into a bun.
It's hot out today and the humidity is killing me.
"How am I supposed to bond with your family when all they want to do is get rid of me?" I ask
He takes a step towards me and my eyes meet his. There's a fierce fire brewing behind his icy blue eyes and at first I believe he's angry with me but then his face relaxes.
"Give them time love. We've all been together for a thousand years. They know why you're here and they'd be foolish to cross me."
His face goes hard at the last sentence and I wonder yet again what would happen to me should I make a wrong move.
I nod and he walks away, leaving me to my racing thoughts.
