Rebekah Kol and I stand in the backyard while Elijah and Nik guard the front.

It's been two weeks and Michael is finally on his way here. Nick had been getting intel from witches and vampires who owed him favors over the years. We couldn't get any information onto why Michael was waiting so long but we knew that in a few short hours at the very least that he would be on our doorstep and when he showed his face, we would be ready.

I still hear the plan in my head.

"We know he's coming and we're ready. We stay here and guard. Elijah and I will take the front. You guys guard the front." Nik said

"Make no mistake. Mikael is the Original Vampire Hunter. If you are caught and facing him alone...we'll let's just say it could be the last decision you ever make." Elijah added

"I think everybody is forgetting a very big piece of this plan." Kol interjected

Everybody turned and looked at him wondering what he meant.

" The white oak. We have no idea where it is." He finished

" The last white oak steak burst into flames along with Mikael." Nik says
"Maybe that's why it's taking so long. He's trying to find any last trace of it." Rebekah suggested

It's dead silent for the first few hours. We check in with one another on the hour. As the time passes, the sky gets darker and I stare up as the stars begin to appear.

I wonder if maybe we had it wrong and he won't show when something flies by me and slams into the wall of the house with a loud explosion.

I whip around and scan the ground, looking for whatever object had been launched.

It's a large rock.

One no human could throw at such a distance.

We all stand perfectly still as a man walks out of the woods and into the glow of the moonlight. He has dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes that have no mercy behind them. He's cold and unfeeling.

"That's him alright." Kol says

"He's here." Rebekah says
