Lorelei's POV:

I slip out of my clothes and place my clothes in a tree then kneel down as I feel the bones start to break. It lasts only a few moments and then I take off into the woods running on all fours.

Time to hunt down Mikael.

Rebekah's POV:

The first thing I notice as Kol and I walk through the front door is the eerie silence. I hold my hand out to stop him from stepping forward and listen intently.

Nothing.

"She's left." Elijah says as he appears a few feet in front of me

"To find our father?" Kol asks from behind me
"Yes." Elijah replies
"Tell me dear brother, how does Nik feel about you sending her on a suicide mission?" I ask

The last thing I want to deal with is the headache I'll get from Nik's raving.

"That is not a concern. He's currently residing in your coffin." Elijah answers
"And when he wakes and Lorelei hasn't returned?"
"She will."
"If she doesn't?"
"Then it will be a very big concern."

Lorelei's POV:

I turn back in a parking lot of a donation center and snag a pair of jeans and a t shirt out of the bin.

It's better than nothing.

I walk past restaurant windows and scan parking lots but I don't see him anywhere.

How long can Elijah keep Nik occupied?

I scan face after face as I walk through the town. I check through alleys and walk down a few more streets.

Maybe they got the town wrong.

Then I spot him.

A tall man with dark brown hair and fierce blue eyes. Just like the man I saw in Elijah's mind. He'd opened up his mind for me in order to see who I was looking for.

Mikael is walking into a small shop. The signs show magical charms and potions and the like. It may be a fake shop but I doubt it. Witches love to hide in plain sight, amongst the charlatans, that way it's easier to hide.

I groan.

Whatever situation Mikael needs a witch for, it isn't good.
